Bellator 52 Ratings on MTV2 Are Up
Like the UFC this past weekend, Bellator 52 also experienced an upswing in ratings. The card was the quarterfinals of the heavyweight tournament. The ratings for Bellator has appeared to be disappointing since they made the move to MTV2 and in some ways they have been. However, it is all about putting things in perspective. This weekend's show did a combined rating of 465,000 viewers with a .33 market share. The telecast peaked between 9:30 and 9:45 p.m. with 345,000 people tuning in for the fights.
Since moving to MTV2, Bellator has seen a rise in popularity and ratings. In one year's time, the ratings for the key 18-34 year old male demographic are up by 111% and 62% in average audience. These are great numbers for a show that features mainly prospects on a network without many viewers. WIth plans of making the jump over to SpikeTV in 2013, these numbers will only improve.
The card saw Mike Hayes, Blagoi Ivanov, Eric Prindle, and Ron Sparks advance to the heavyweight tournament's semifinals. There was no super fight.

The part where you said, the rating have been dissapointing since the move to MTV2
And the part where you said “Since moving to MTV2, Bellator has seen a rise in popularity and ratings.” Didn’t really match and confused me o.O

i like bellator. i dont think threre is anything bad to say about them. ive been to there event three times
at the mohegan sun and they were all well worth the comped tickets.
A very fun card
I hiope Ivanov continues to improve now that he is training in North America, I hope eventually becomes what Fedor was.

Lets GO Wings!!!
Ivanov was the standout to me. His sambo/judo takedowns were very strong, and he has a good ground game. His standup didn’t look too bad either. Everyone else came off as largely one-dimensional sluggers.

Did the UFC actually have an upswing in numbers last weekend?
Traffic actually went down on Saturday and I saw something like 750k viewers total for UFC on Versus. That doesn’t sounds like a big number to me.

yeah, Vs. numbers haven't been that great
I think they’ve run 6 shows on Vs. and Saturday was the 3rd highest, up from the previous one or two.

That card!
I was literally laughing durring every fight except the last one. Laughing from:
A) Holy shit those are some huge un-fit doods
B) MEATFIST SMASH knockout
C) Those huge un-fit doods are SOMEHOW actually amazing me over a 3 rounder!
Then they got to the Grove/Hayes fight and I fell asleep.
But I will totally watch these heavyweights again, you should too! I can’t even tell you who won the last fight, but the rest of the guys (winners and some losers) put on a great show

This weekend’s WW fights should be awesome. It’s a shame that they’re going up against such a great UFC main card.
I wonder how much traffic they’re getting on Spike.com for the prelims. I think I saw something like 28,000 views on the counter during last week’s prelims, but I have no idea if anyone really knows they’re being shown on there.
.....
That card was better than I expected but still terrible in comparison to ufc on vs or bellator tournaments
