all melvin’s hard work was gone, just like that

by Elitex10x on Oct 25, 2011 12:46 AM EDT reply actions

man i feel so bad for Melvin, i just hope that he learns from this, it happens to the best of them.

GSP underestimated Serra and look at what happened.

Melvin is still young, he’s only 28 years old, and its not like his 5 fight win streak is completely erased, he took a step back that day, but realistically if he wins 2 or 3 fights in a row he could get a shot at the belt depending on who he beats.

How many times does melvin have to be beaten and humiliated ffs….

What I took from that was

Garcia is a good sport win or lose, why was Phams face not look like he was even hit?, really sucks that Melvin ended his 5 win streak, Lauzon is the fucking man, Kenny looks disappointed, Stann is so manly he should be in an old spice commercial. Sonnen should get the next title shot and is great with kids, Anderson Silva is more exited than Aldo, Where the hell was Frankie? and i feel really bad for Gray and Melvin.

Phan’s face wasn’t to damaged because he barely got hit.

That part with Melvin Guillard was actually hard for me to watch.

‎"You know, you can do all the right things in practice against other guys that are world class, but uh, when you get Chael on top of you it’s just different. It’s just different. I had the same problems that just about everyone else has with him and people are gonna continue to have with him…"

Did Chael refuse the bonus check from Dana at the end?

by HuskerHammer on Oct 25, 2011 10:35 AM EDT reply actions

No, look again...

He hands Joe his and then you see Chael wave him off. Then the camera goes back to Dana and he has 1 envelope left that he tucks back into his jacket.

by HuskerHammer on Oct 25, 2011 3:25 PM EDT up reply actions

believe me Chael wouldn't turn down $65,000+ especially now that MMA is his primary source of income

Dana gave Joe the SOTN bonus, and the envelope he put in his pocket was the KOTN bonus which he was going to give to Frankie edgar who wasn’t there to receive it.

Dana gives it to Lauzon

and you can hear him say ‘it was between you two’ to Chael, and he mentioned Lauzon being a 3 to 1 underdog, and Chael says something to the effect of ‘understood’, he has no problem with it…he was even congratulating Joe.

OK, thanks for clearing that up.

I’m at work so I couldn’t turn the volume up very high to hear what was said.

Fine! I'll go build my own lunar lander, with blackjack and hookers. In fact, forget the lunar lander and the blackjack.

i know maynard was obviously upset, but it felt kinda awkward seeing him blow edgar off like that when frankie tried to talk to him

by mctapout on Oct 25, 2011 10:09 PM EDT reply actions

He did that after the second fight as well.

Poor Melvin

You know what though, maybe he’ll remember this for next time. He’s got age on his side, but he’s gotta stop making these mistakes. When you’re achieving everything you want, and lose it all on a stupid mistake… that mistake is something you’d better not make again.

Business as Usual has a STACKED team. I mean, we could win with just me, but you know.
