Can Carlos Condit get a fight at UFC 137

If I were Carlos Condit, I would like to fight at UFC 137. Mainly due to the fact to stay active, but also; if Nick Diaz destroys Baby Jay, guess who's getting the next title shot? So let's ask ourselves what the possibilities are:

Thiago Alves:

The Pitbull is set to welcome newcomer Papy Abedi a week after UFC 137. Although he has had some recent struggles in the cage, picking up a 1-3 record in his last 4 ufc appearances, he is still a very well-known fighter. And I think it would make a much more exciting fight. However, Thiago Alves is a huge welterweight, stepping in the cage somewhere between 190-200 pounds, so it is probable he will decline the fight because he simply cannot make weight in time.

Jake Ellenberger:

A fantastic stylistic match-up that guarentees fireworks. Jake Ellenberger is currently considered to be an elite welterweight, making his debut in the top 5 of sherdog's welterweight rankings. He is fresh of his abolishment of Jake Shields, former Strikeforce middleweight champion, and the only person to steal a round from GSP since 2007. However, Jake Ellenberger is looking to make his return somewhere around UFC 140, so it is possible he is not in good shape.

Josh Koscheck

Kos didn't pick up too much damage in his last fight against Matt Hughes. Recently stating that he is fighting for nothing other than the money, I think this could be the ideal candidate to fill in for GSP. Josh Koscheck is like the slower, retarded brother of GSP. His striking is not as good, nor his wrestling, but he's still considered to be in the top 3, so if Carlos proves himself in this fight, by finishing Josh, he can become a very serious threat to GSP's crown. Josh Koscheck is known for taking fights on short notice, filling in for Diego Sanchez at UFC 135.

Other not so very interesting candidates:

Erick Silva

Paulo Thiago

Dan Hardy
