Why? Because MTV's programming has changed in the decade or so since they were on the air. Mike Judge (the creator, head writer, and voice of both metalheaded idjits) has gone on the record as saying that now the pair will not just watch and critique music videos in their infamous, highly imitable way, but also give the same treatment to MTV's other programming, in particular the reality shows. In this New York Times Magazine article hyping the relaunch, he specifically mentions Jersey Shore and 16 and Pregnant. Fortunately for us Bleeding Elitists there's more to MTV than the main channel these days. There's MTV 2.
