I guess it's hard to leave the game forever.
According to sources close to both fighters, MMA veterans Shonie Carter and Phil Baroni will both be returning to the cage to try and jump start their respective careers on March 25 for Titan Fighting Championships.
Carter (49-26-7-1) is coming off of five straight losses, most recently dropping a decision in Israel to Jeremy Knafo on Nov. 9 2010. Ironically, after the fight was over, Carter took the mic and announced his retirement from MMA. I guess once a fighter always a fighter.
Baroni (13-13) is coming off of three straight losses, most recently at UFC 125. At UFC 125, Baroni looked really strong in the opening minutes of the fight before getting rocked by a Brad Tavares head kick and subsequently TKO’d. When Baroni was asked about fighting for Titan, he had this to say:
“I’m very happy and excited to re-start my career with Titan Fighting in Kansas City. I have another chapter to write and it starts March 25. The best NYBA ‘eva is fighting for Titan… People love a comeback.”
more on this rumor as announcements are made.
