Nice! That’s a big time fight right now. I think McKee might hump him for 3 rounds though.

Antonio McKee is the Pat Miletich of the MFC

He needs to lose a few more outside MFC before he really captures the essence of Miletich’s UFC reign.

MFC

is where McKee belongs. The guy is just too old to compete with the young UFC lions.

I think he can compete with the young lions just fine. I understand why Zuffa cut him (why invest in a 40 year old mid-tier guy when you can invest in a 20-something kid with better upside), but I think he could have held his own against the bottom half of the division if given the opportunity.

Your probably right

but the man said he should be compared to GSP. I still haven’t forgiven him for that.

he talked mad shit to get attention and it worked

i don’t blame chael nor mckee for it.

if mma fans want to indulge any shit talker with a couple of wins good for them. if you can’t be exciting in the cage, might as well be exciting when giving an interview.

People do not like to think. If one thinks, one must reach conclusions. Conclusions are not always pleasant.

I think that he would be able to beat some of the non-wrestlers of the UFC Lightweight division, but otherwise, since he lost to Volkmann, I can’t see him getting that far in the UFC.

I won't jump off the bandwagon just because you lost.

Nice to see Fickett stringing together some wins again.

Hope he’s turned his personal issues around too.

Whatever happened with drew fickett… did the UFC cut him or did he leave… which ever one can somebody provide some back story. thanks

by smreece on Jan 13, 2011 7:31 PM EST reply actions

The UFC cut him after a drunken tirade at one of the Station casinos.

ADCC banned him after a drunken tirade involving ADCC officials.

MFC & Strikeforce cut him after he double booked them (probably while drunk).

Needless to say, Drew had some issues. Hopefully, they are behind him now.

Does anyone know if Drew quit drinking? He’s been doing very well lately and it seems that would be the most obvious reason why.

We will have answers to all these questions next week. Should be a pretty interesting story I hope.

I hope so. It’s always a shame to see talent go to waste from addiction.

FINALLY… MCKEE…. IS COMING BACK…. TO EDMONTON!

by Subbevil on Jan 13, 2011 8:05 PM EST reply actions

Just shows the level the UFC is at, he is the MFC LW champ, comes to teh UFC loses and now right back to MFC to get his LW title back,.

Good fight and good card though Glover/Jimmo is the fight they should have made, Jimmo wont fight him, Glover needs to get his ass in the UFC right now, or atleast SF or Bellator, MFC isnt the place to be at.

Wait...

…was MFC 3 a tourney? It says Drew beat 3 guys at that event. Typo, or…?

Fickett at 155?

I didn’t realize he has been fighting at 155… Hopefully he’s back on track, I always liked watching him fight (when he wasn’t a mess).

Fun Fact: Fickett means 'Fuck it' in some areas of Germany

Predominantly in the north, around the Berlin area. It’s a slang term.
