Anyway, what a fight and what a performance by Hioki. Two 10-8 rounds against such a high level fighter, wow.
Has hell frozen over…First Sandro then Bibiano….WTF

Sandro fought against doctor's advice
he had a nasty infection in his right hand and couldn’t punch or grapple with it for 20 days prior to the fight.

Please tell me there’s a judo chop coming up on Hioki’s ground slickness in the fifth round.
If Derek Jeter clubbed a baby seal on earth day while wearing a mink coat and crocodile skin boots while burning tires on an iceberg, the reaction would be "Its OK Derek, you’re a Yankee." -First mammal to wear pants
maybe he couldn’t “properly use it”, but he swung with his right deadly haymakers till he gassed.

Sandro’s right hook/right uppercut flurries are amazing. He almost had Hioki a couple of times in R1.
Seemed like he (Sandro) was mostly catching air though.
Since when has Hioki been this slick on his feet? Maybe I was just so impressed by his ground skills that I seriously undersold his stand-up…
hioki has always had a good chin
in this fight he was good at using speed to backup from all those killshots in rd1,2,& 4.

I thought if Hioki stood with Sandro for an extended amount of time, he would be going to sleep.
Hioki obviously had a reach advantage, but Marlon has that one-punch KTFO power. Proved me wrong there.
Then that entire sequence on the ground in the fifth transitioning from the hammerlock to the kimura to the armbar. Awesome.

Hioki is #2 FW in the world
In this moment with his reach and grappling would be stylistically toughest opponent for
Aldo.
It was great seeing all those overrated Japanese fighters – Hioki, Takaya, Kawajirii – get exposed by the better Brazilians and Americans.

1) They’re all cans. Thomson washed out of the UFC; Sandro and Bibiano never even fought in the UFC!
2) Thomson and Sandro lost by wide margins, therefore those fights were mismatches.
Multiply this times a few hundred and you’ve got sherdog.

What did Sandro get the yellow card for in the first?
Awesome fight. SRC had managed some rally good ones together. Hioki has some crazy submission skills going on.
HIOKI!
Living up to his potential. Nice to see.
Been a favorite of mine for awhile now.
