War Kamal
hope to see him taking the next step in improving.

I see him winning by guillotine

and not like, guillotine choke. Guillotine as in knocking Bart’s head clean off his shoulders.

I’ve got big walnuts. Gorilla nuts.

Kamal gets Bart
And I think Wagney is a bad match up for Bowels Fabiano by submission

Wagney let me down hard. I talked him up to a friend of mine and described the fight as a lock for Wagney by sub. It was pretty funny my friend while watching Wagney get locked into a triangle said “Don’t ever cheer for me in anything ever not even my wedding”

Wagnney had a broken rib and should have pulled out of the fight.

Fabiano's recent fights since the Semerzier loss

have reiterated my belief that he’s much more a of positionally dominant BJJ guy than a submission threat, ala Arona. I think he’s just going to be vastly undersized against Bowles though, and will get tossed around.

Bowles doesn’t want to play around on the ground with Wagnney but I think he’s powerful enough to control him for a decision or keep it standing en-route to a T/KO.

People need to stop writing off Faber as being "Done"

Faber’s only loses are to Aldo, Mike Brown, and Tyson Edgar. Thats pretty impressive for a guy fighting as an under sized FW. He’s at the weight he should have been at years ago, and should be have success in the BW division.

lol yea that was a brain fart

While I’d like to see the winner of Bowles/Fabiano get a title shot, I suspect that honor will go to Faber if he wins.

Why would they give Bowles an immediate title shot after Cruz handled him?

Broken hand or not Bowles was losing decisively.

I think Faber would deserve it more

Former dominant champ with a win over a top ranking fighter and a win over the current champ. As compared to a Fabiano who has been dissapointing as of late and Bowles who is coming off of a loss to the champ.

Ugh.

Did Scott Jorgenson go out and knock up everybody’s sister? Get that man his title shot. You’d think he spoke Portuguese with how long its taking to get him a shot at the belt.

That's fair

I was just saying Faber deserved it more than Bowles/Fabiano

Yah Scotty is getting his shot next, there’s no way they’re passing him up this time.. but the one after that, knowing WEC it might very well end up being Faber if he gets the win. Can’t really think of any other guys who have a strong case going on right now, except Scotty of course, and quite possibly I’m forgetting someone.

by Horselover Fat on Sep 7, 2010 4:44 PM EDT up reply actions

Jorg definitely gets the next shot

But that belt is eventually Urijah’s. Theres no getting around it. He will be by far the best athlete and the most well rounded in BW. If he wins against Takeya convincingly (and he will) he will be given the next shot for sure. The WEC needs him back in the spotlight.

i fucking love the WEC

overall, i think i enjoy a ‘normal’ WEC card much more than a ‘normal UFC’ card. if that makes sense.

Go big red!

by pornflake on Sep 7, 2010 3:12 PM EDT reply actions

Yup, same here. With few exceptions the WEC fights generally don’t feel as “important”, or whatever word you want to use, to those in the UFC. But you know they’ll always deliver the most entertaining fight cards! They have a very high standard overall, never disappoint.

He actually got some boos in Sac last time

by dribblebib on Sep 7, 2010 4:06 PM EDT up reply actions

No he didn't

The bars in Sacramento were more full for the last Urijah fight then they have been for any recent UFC.

So you can confirm that absolutely no one in sactown booed him last time?

by RoB_ex on Sep 7, 2010 4:28 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

That’s what I’m thinking too. There’s always going to be a few out of towners / random nutjobs / assholes / supporters of the other fighter or whatever. But I don’t see any reason why the crowd there in general would be turning against him at this point.

by Horselover Fat on Sep 7, 2010 5:02 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah I can't confirm it was zero

But Urijah is a HUGE star in Sacramento. Pretty much unanimously loved.

Light booing could be heard in the later rounds of the contest. Perhaps they were booing the lack of action, but it was surprising nevertheless to hear booing of any sort in Sacramento at a Faber fight. With the way the fight had gone they were either booing Aldo for holding back and not killing Faber or Faber for not engaging; either one would be weird. That was my interpretation.

by dribblebib on Sep 7, 2010 9:22 PM EDT up reply actions

If the WEC wants to make money off a Big Gate..

They need to keep doing shows in Sacramento where Faber sells that place out every time he fights.

It’s smart business. And they’ll keep going back as long as Faber is still in the fight game.

Never run away from easy money.

If EliteXC wants to keep doing big money

they’ll keep putting Kimbo as the main event. Never put your eggs in many baskets.

That's a dumb comparison.
