UFC 124 Preview: Georges St. Pierre Wants to Twist His Knuckle on Josh Koscheck's Head

"I believe a lot of the guys try to take me off track. They do that, because I do believe skill wise and technically I'm the best fighter in the world. They want to take me off track. They want me to fight with my anger and not with my head and my heart. I'm not going to do that mistake."

"Of course a guy like that (Josh Koscheck), that trash talks, says I'm a frenchie. It just puts extra motivation for me to twist my knuckle on his head when I hit him."

Too fucking old to enjoy some good, juvenile humor, that’s how old.

So is that the evolution of the technique

First twisting nipples, now twisting knuckles?

Lets be honest here, punching isnt a part of St Pierres arsenal in a title match perhaps he meant he was going to take him down hold him there and give him nuggies until he grinds out the decission

Family Guy used it because it’s a classic line from the Honeymooners. I even remember hearing it in a Pinky and the Brain episode way back…

Thank God GSP never finished Fitch

So many glorious highlights in that fight.

And war Fitch, even though it’s hard to objectively counter the lay and pray accusations. He’s just such an affable guy that brings so much heart in to the ring. Such a good sport, too, coming to the post fight presser after getting his ass so thoroughly beat. It’s amazing to think that if GSP never existed, Fitch would be almost unbeatable and have a 13-fight win streak.

by Mint on Sep 7, 2010 3:34 PM EDT up reply actions

This is the fight that made me a Fitch fan

Anyone else who took a beating as bad as he did would have thrown in the towel or been TKO’d. He hung in there the whole time. One of his most admirable performances.

Is that last image a late stoppage by Yves Lavigne?

by Rufford on Sep 7, 2010 3:42 PM EDT up reply actions

Well, it’s pretty rare to stop a fight from body shots without the guy tapping, but thankfully he did. Those would eventually crack some ribs and fuck up some organs. Just vicious.

by Mint on Sep 7, 2010 3:49 PM EDT up reply actions

Late stoppage?

C’mon, son. Three and a half knee strikes to the ribs is a perfectly fine ref stoppage IMO.

Get rid of the ramp!

by ihateemo on Sep 7, 2010 3:58 PM EDT up reply actions

I see the guy turtled up for 5 seconds with no attempt to move. Eh, I’ll watch the fight.

Wow

What’s going, is Sherdog on maintenance or something?

by spectaa on Sep 7, 2010 4:04 PM EDT up reply actions

is that a technique?

seriously. Does twisting your fist on impact increase your chance of opening up a cut or something?

by ecost on Sep 7, 2010 3:12 PM EDT reply actions

That’s the principle behind a corkscrew punch

I'm a lover not a fighter

by spectaa on Sep 7, 2010 4:14 PM EDT up reply actions

thx for the info

I wonder if this is what the Diaz brothers are trying to do with some of their funky punches

by ecost on Sep 7, 2010 6:53 PM EDT up reply actions

I don’t think so, the corkscrew uses the shoulder and the body to add momentum. I think you’ll need to google this one for more accurate info.

I know you can use it on the body too (to the plexus), but I can’t seem to find a video about it.
