What's the point...
of using the chains instead of additional weights? Do they require extra stabilization or something?
Think about it…
As you lift the bar it begins to get heavier bc more of the weight from the chains is coming off the ground and getting lifted as well instead of just staying on the ground. So it gets heavier as you lift.

Yep. Exactly right.
So it causes constant and increased resistance on whatever muscle you are working throughout the movement.
you should try it....
Its so much harder…

I hate to bash as well, but after seeing this video and all the different exercises he does, a thought came to my mind, “what exercise could of helped you against Dan Henderson’s right hand”?
well, as much as that makes me smile inside, it is fighter bashing XD

What I got outta that was.
With all due respect, I had no idea you’d gotten experimental surgery to have your balls removed…
but I said with all due respect.

Akiyama's gonna be bringing the sexy
but Bisping will bring the boring. He’s done nothing but hit and run lately.
Honestly.
I hope these exercises are par for the course for Bisping, because his conditioning has never been an issue. What he needs to do is get the hell out of Wolfslair and go somewhere with a higher caliber of fighter to train with.
I can’t believe his trainer said “good” to his front squat form. Its good to see pretty much all his exercises are trying to develop power though. I don’t know if he does them outside of this video, but learning to clean and do olympic lifts would be an improvement over the jump shrug type exercises he was doing because they develop more nueromuscular control. The exercise at the end of the first video was questionable too. It almost looked like he was supposed to be trying to clean the dumbells up from a sitting position to focus on the shrug portion of the lift, but he is just swinging his arms up which has very little functional or developmental value if you ask me.
The "front squat" he was doing is actually a variation of the deadlift.
They are called Zercher deadlifts and they are traditional done starting from the floor. And yes, he is doing them properly. Zercher deadlifts are controversial in the fact that they put a lot of strain on your back; as you can probably tell the lift pretty much forces you to hunch over, something that is typically discouraged in most squat and deadlift variations. They are heavily used in wrestling training because of the fact that the lift mimics the initial pull and lift of a suplex. I for one would never prescribe this lift to a novice lifter.
Ummmmm..........
I guess you can call it whatever you want, but most people call it a Zercher squat. He is using the Zercher grip so it automatically makes it a Zercher squat. Dude, it’s okay to be wrong. I know people have a hard time admitting their wrong on the internet but we don’t know each other, so no need to save face.
Here is a zercher front squat Zercher just refers to a specific grip it seems. That is 100 percent a front squat and I am not even convinced that is a zercher grip in the video. It looks like bisping is just using the arms crossed rack rather than a traditional rest the bar on deltoids with the elbows pointing forward rack.
