Some of you might have heard of a YouTube blogger named Bloodstain Lane. I hadn't until recently. But, apparently Bas Boon and Alistair Overeem have. It seems that one of the recent entries from Bloodstain made its way to the mixfight.nl forums and well let's just say that Bas was not too happy about it. Here is the long diatribe that Bas posted on the mixfight.nl comments section blasting Bloodstain:
There is another “sensation” personal opinion by an attention seeker nobody who needs to send his frustrations to the world.
Mr bloodstanlame moron is a huge fan of GG, GG has been participating in Japan for a very long time. In k-1 for 18 years there is the same rule, if you become a number 8 fighter by the K-1 GP finals, then you are automatic qualified to fight in the next year last 16.
The management of GG and Alistair informed Strikeforce in November last year that we were able to fight from April till September in 2010.
Then the following thing happened, please bloodlame/shame journalist do your research. The management of Fedor thought Alistair was not a worthy opponent and choose for Rogers to fight in april. Lucky for Alistair he could fight in K-1 on April 3th in Japan, if he had to wait for the Fedor fight he would have still be side lined.
Then finally Alistair defends his belt against the looser of the fight against fedor , Rogers, why? Ask M-1. Fedor?M-1 did not want to fight they now accusing Alistair being a steroid bully in the press, later they apologize when Vadim claimed he did not have said such a thing to the Russian journalist, the Russian journalist taped the conversation and this was the only reason vadim apologized towards Alistair. In the mean time the M-1 management name Josh Barnet (a know caught steroid user) as the possible next opponent for Fedor?
GG management and Alistair really try to push another strikeforce fight before the end of September and even maybe cancel K-1 if there is sight of a huge fight with Werdrum or even looser Fedor.
Alistair even goes to La to challenge the winner of the Fedor vs Werdrum fight. He had to challenge Werdrum as he won from Fedor and that would make him the next contender for the belt. The Fedor and his management say we only fight our last fight on the contract with strikeforce if we fight against Werdrum????????????
GG has been asking for a long period for confirmation to strikeforce for one of these two opponents, but no concrete answer. Therefore Alistair decided to fight again in K-1. If you think it is easy to fight in K-1 and fight in a $400.000 tournament, ask yourself why not one American or Russian has ever been successful in this K-1 tournament over 18 years? Fedor never fought once K-1 rules. Alistair fought the best in stand up and will do it again, because he is a fighter and wants to fight and wants to fight the best. He is also a professional and K-1 offered him a very good contract, knowing the Russian played games fro the last 1.5 years with strikefore and K-1 needed to start their advertisement campaign there was simply no more time, so that’s why Alistair and his management decided to participate in K-1 again (the option was already there as he qualified last year .
It was Alistair and management who decided maybe cancelling the K-1 GP if a concrete offer was made by strikeforce. But the Russian only wanted to fight Werdrum and Werdrum was injured. Alistair already fought the looser once from the Fedor vs Rogers fight and Alistair and management would not settle with less then Werdrum and fedor which both could not be delivered. As soon as Alistair was confirmed on the K-1 web site to participate in the year’s GP, Fedor / M1 come with the challenge, hahahahaha how much prove do you need Mr bloodlame investigator?
Not some wannabe “journalist” with a personal opinion and frustrations writing and talking bollocks. GG is not pushing any organization to do co-promotions over the back of their own managed fighters. K-1 was there before UFC and strikeforce and even going to a difficult time, they still are a very thrust full and professional organization with a TV broadcast over 151 countries it is the biggest martial arts show in the world.
Strikeforce is doing well to they got the best heavyweight division in the US, it is unfortunately Scott has to deal with the last fight of the most screwed up managed fighter Fedor on this planet and an injured Werdrum. We know the frustration as we walked the same way with Alistair when he sustained a hand injury in 2009 and before that strikeforce simply did not have the good heavyweight fighters and TV deals to offer Alistair a decent title fight (there was not a contract in place at that time as well). All that you could have find out, it’s been discussed a gazillion time and official statements were made about all these facts.
By the way thanks for buying that GG sweater in our store, your contribution and publicity is highly appreciated.
Bas Boon
Wow. And people call M-1's management nuts. Boon just wrote a tome hailing down childish insults on a fan of his organization in a forum not to different from this one. And then Overeem a few posts later calls Bloodstain a "weener". That would be like BJ Penn taking time out of his training schedule to come on BE and call Snowden a douche or Vince McMahon walking out of a writers meeting to post here that Luke can bite him. It's insane.
I have a lot of respect for Alistair as a fighter. But this is purely bush league amateur tactics. They have no business crying about M-1 when they are behaving like this.
