Man they should Pitbull up against Anthony Johnson. Both guys can’t make weight so it’d be a fair fight.

Maybe
If Alves adjusts what weight he cuts from, he looked exhausted from walking up to the cage last time (I was rooting for Fitch)
Idk if his last cut went so badly from a bad plan, bad execution, or poor discipline from Alves (maybe a combo of the 3), but as I understand it he’s working with Dolce now so it should be a non-issue both making weight and keeping his strength and endurance while doing so.

I hope so
Because he really didn’t look like the hungry, dangerous Alves we’re used to in his last outing. Always a pleasure to watch otherwise.
Agreed
I don’t recall at the moment, but I believe there were reports out during the week that sounded like he was not doing a proper cut at all…
If he came in like he did against GSP I think he would have had a good shot at taking Fitch…

Making weight is never gonna be a non-issue for Alves, he’s just too fucking big.

If he’s working with Dolce, and willing to do as he is told, it will be a non-issue…and if he’s not, Dolce will walk…

Sorry but, even with Dolce, it is an issue. He can make weight, but there will definitely be issues en route.
And then God created Saturn... and he liked it, so he put a ring on it.
Twitter me and what not.
This is going to a GREAT match!

If Alves has no problems with weight...
…he should take him apart. He’s got a lot to prove.
Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose.
I like this fight better than the Alves v Pierce fight that it looked like was about to happen. Someone is getting knocked out, and I’d bet on Howard waking up on the canvas at the end of this one.
I don't think Alves wanted Pierce.
Why would he want another wrestler after being systematically destroyed by two wrestlers in his previous two fights?
Sure it was two top contenders, but Alves had nothing for either on the ground or in defense of the takedown.
I think he just didn’t want to appear as if he was concerned to fight wrestlers in a division that is heavy laden with wrestlers in it’s top ranks.

I like Howard's chances
Ellenberger showed better wrestling skills than Howard in his last contest, but Howard showed (in my opinion) that Ellenberger wanted no parts of the standup game with him.
I think Howard’s loss was a (no pun intended) an eye-opener for him, because although Ellenberger was able to get a few good shots on Howard from the top, Howard didn’t look to bad in his defense from the ground. I think what Howard needs to work on is his takedown defense. I think his size (5’7") plays a big part in that though.
I still like this matchup because Alves and Howard are both great strikers in their own unique way.

Interesting
That it’s at 124 rather than 123 too.
Anyway – should be a good fight – wonder who they have in mind for Pierce.
I thought howard was supposed to fight Rumble?
I didn’t realize it had been so long since Pitbull had fought before fighting Fitch. Ring Rust is a bitch.
Gonna be tough but I’m pulling for Doomsday.
