And boom goes the dynamite. Joe Warren’s pretty nasty. He gets himself in a lot of trouble sometimes but he seems to always find a way to win and that’s what really matters. Then again John Howard was doing the exact same thing (rallying from a beating) until he ran into someone (Jake Ellenberger) that didn’t give him a chance to rally.

I like Warren, I think he’s a good fighter and great hypeman. I hope after he takes a break in 2011 (to make the 2012 Olympics) he really settles down on MMA and goes up against the guys in the WEC. I’d love to see how he handled Mike Brown, Aldo, Grispi, Hominick, Jung and Gamburyan. I know he’s a bit up there in age but wrestlers like him seem to have a later peak for their career (look at Chael Sonnen, Couture, Henderson…all also guys from Team Quest [Couture from back in the day] weird).

I have nothing invested in Warren or Soto either way, but my immediate reaction was to close my stream change the channel and wonder why the fuck I bother watching MMA. I’m not exactly sure why I reacted like that – I think it had something to do with the fact that Warren’s striking is at the level that it is. It was something like watching Lesnar go fetal and then win against Carwin.

Immediately after that I was like, “holy shit, I just witnessed that?” I found myself left with a feeling that I last had after Santiago-Misaki.

Joe Warren. I can’t front on the man’s ability to win.

Joe Warren SHOULD NOT WIN FIGHTS HE WINS.

He just shouldn’t. No man should. He just has the sheer force of will to be a winner. He wants to win that much more than anybody else. In MMA, that’s what really matters. Fedor showed it, Brock showed it, Nogueira showed it. The desire to win at any cost will pull you through.

After watching the first round, and watching Soto throwing his hands in the air, and waving a finger in Warrens face when he was dazed, rather then trying to finish the fight, I kept finding myself wanting Warren to KO soto out of now where.

Then when it made it to round 2, I was hoping Warren would come out and make him pay for not finishing it in round 1.

It kills me when people showboat, especially at the expence of finishing a fight

Warren has had some gift decisions and just made up for them all with this performance.

The only thing that will haunt Soto is him acting like an idiot the getting KTFO because of it. As much of an ass that Warren is at least he never would pull that bs, that is mma karma if there ever was it.

Soto pulled some Rashad type shit and paid for it the same way.

Always happy to see a show-boater get served.

Soto is going to be kicking himself about this one for a long time. He rocked warren so many times in the first round and never followed up.

Exhibit A

Don’t showboat when the other guy is wearing 4oz gloves too.

Of all the Bellators this season to not get aired in my area. I really hate FSN right now.

Similarly I hated when an AIM message popped up on my TV during the fight.

Also, fuck college football.

yeah I didn't even get a delayed broadcast of Bellator

instead we got Northern Illinois vs Iowa State — who the fuck in Austin TX gives a single shit about that game?

I have no idea how fsn works, but that was also on in NY. But I did get the replay at midnight to tape.

by Phildo on Sep 3, 2010 10:20 AM EDT up reply actions

and it’s weird. I checked online tv listings to make sure that the football game was really the one you mentioned, and they said that in my area the game was replayed at midnight, but the guide on my tv said bellator, and it was bellator. Maybe there was some miscommunication somewhere, so people should just watch/record whatever is on your fsn network at midnight next week if the live showing gets preempted.

I don't get any Bellator fights

or I’m too dumb to find them. One of the two.

Tatum: I think he's a good man. I like him. I got nothing against him, but I'm definitely gonna make orphans of his children.
