Mirko Cro Cop Looks to Return in 2011 for Two More Fights
"I had many injuries, leg and back. I was sick, lost 6.5 kg while I was in Indianapolis. I could not push any harder. It turns out I was in better shape than (Frank Mir). Mir did not want dynamic fight. I was told not to push it till the third round. I was going to spend last two minutes attacking. I did not see the knee. I will definitely not fight again this year. I have options for 2 more fights, knowing myself I will do both."

O Mirko, i like this guy as a person, but as a fighter he’s had a mental block to let his hands and feet go ever since the Gonzaga KO. Right Brain – Mental Hospital, Left Brain – Cementary.

He needs a psychologist.... lol
Or alternatively steroids which will pump up his testosterones and bring back the Pride Cro Cop lol.
Is a cementary where cement goes to die?

I didn’t think it was possible but he’s making even more excuses than before the fight. Thank god Mir knocked his ass out now his and his fans can stop the delusions and accept that he’s been figured out.

Wow seriously?

That’s a fucking legit excuse, most fighters would back out of the fight if that happened to them days before a fight.
He was checked out a a proffesional and was fine, seriously why are people so desperate to make excuses for him. I can just imagine if it was Frank who got KTFO and was making excuses this place would be crucifying him but since it’s CC they will excuse everything.

Being cleared doesn't mean it was at 100%
People would have the same reaction if it was Crocop who knocked out Mir, stop being butt hurt that nobody gives a shit that Mir got a knockout after a shitty performance and that he didn’t get a bonus.
No one ever enters a fight at 100%
I hate to say it but Cro Cop is d-u-n.

Cro Cop hasn't been a K-1 kickboxer over seven years
and I’m a notorious Cro Cop fanboy.

I am, dammit.
He was setting up the LHK before the fluke knee. Cro Cop still has what it takes when there isn’t some other guy opposite him trying to avoid a fight and in lieu of a conversation. It’s till 2006 and he’s a fucking killer. I don’t want to hear a word otherwise.

yeah i know but its not like you forget what kickboxing is just because your in MMA now, at the very least he still has the credentials of a lifelong K1 Level Striker, he did exit kb 6-1 in his last 7 fights

Sure nobody comes in 100% but Dooooooode…look at that. The guys was clearly in worse shape than most fighters when they enter the ring. That doesn’t necessarily mean he would’ve put on a better performance without it. His last few appearances were all pretty much crap. But he has a rather legit excuse this time.
There’s also nothing Tito about it since he said it coming into the fight. The Ortiz-Way of shitty excuses demands that you caim to be 110% coming into the fight, then deliver a mediocre performance and turn around in the post-fight-interview to blame it on a lingering injury so severe it is a miracle you were even able to fight at all!
To save me some time on 25% of all threads, here's the universal answer to the Fedor-debate: Fedor is the most accomplished MMA fighter ever. That is a fact. If he still is the best fighter at this point in time is up for debate.
Never said he wasn't done
and I know no one ever fights at a 100%, but I bet you no one ever cried blood days before their fight and still fought. Crocop’s injury was pretty severe and I bet most fighters would bail on a fight if that happened to them.
No it wasn’t if it was then he wouldn’t have been allowed to fight and most fighters have at many points of their life fought injured that’s part of how things work when you’re a pro.

Figured out?
This guy made everyone else have to evolve. His killer persona simply died along with his motivation.
Meh. I would not be opposed to the Nog rematch and a fight with Randy.

I have no problem with two more fights
Just don’t make either of them the main event (or co-main for that matter) of a $50 PPV
I don't know about that one
I felt that Nog won that fight pretty decisively. I wouldn’t mind Nog vs. Crocop again for nostalgia. I don’t think Nog is going to be able to make a run for the title again.
Love Mirko
but I don’t wanna hear any excuses. The guy is done and has been a complete shell of his former Pride days since he’s been in the UFC

I’ve always wanted more hugging and random goofy conversations in the ring. Crocop is filling that void in me… hard… so hard.

The only way he's useful now
Is against some who barely poses any threat — a can, if you will. Kinda sad.
He's more useful as a guy to make others look good
The UFC needed Mir to get a win, and got their wish. As bad as the fight was, they even got a fantastic highlight to package in future promo material. They were hoping that Barry was good enough to win and sacrificing Crocop to him would be perfect, but it didn’t happen.
It’s a business, and guys like Crocop and Liddell have no long term value. Having them win against cans achieves nothing.
What does he mean by “I was told to not push it until the third round” That seemed a little odd.
As others have said though, I wouldn’t mind seeing a few more fights but it appears he’s done fighting at a high level.
Coaching
I assume he meant that came from his coaches. Doctors wouldn’t say that, and its a safe bet the UFC would not wreck their reputation by telling a fighter to take it easy on Mir.

I'd guess it was
Mir himself who said that as part of their in-fight conversation.

if you really want to motivate him
Give him a rematch. Gonzaga or Kongo, though I’d tend towards the former if he beats Schaub. Their first fight was legendary, and its about the only remaining CC fight causl fans could get up for.
Or just give him Meathead and let him ride out his once legendary career as a doormat.
Give me smallest finger on man's hand. I'll produce information. Computer unnecessary.
