C.B. Dollaway choked out Joe Doerksen in the first round of their bout at UFC 119 after a dynamic grappling battle on the floor.
Doerksen shot in for a single leg take down on Dollaway, a decorated collegiate wrestler. But Dollaway countered by landing an arm in guillotine. After waiting patiently for better position, Dollaway transitioned into an arm out guillotine. Doerksen rolled several times, but Dollaway rolled with him and locked in the choke.
The veteran Doerksen brought a seven fight win streak into the fight.
Dollway, a veteran of The Ultimate Fighter, had been submitted in his previous UFC losses and came into the fight wary of Doerksen's grappling experience.
The fight aired on Spike TV's broadcast of the UFC 119 preliminaries.
