DREAM.16 Weigh-in Results

Fighters weighed in for DREAM.16 at Nagoya's LACHIC shopping center in front of a crowd of over 1,000. Photo courtesy of DREAM.

All fighters made weight for Saturday's DREAM.16 in Nagoya, Japan, including the just-added pair of James Thompson and Yusuke Kawaguchi, who'll open the show in a heavyweight contest.

Kawaguchi - the "megaton" champion of DEEP - stepped in at the eleventh hour after Thompson's original opponent, Ikuhisa Minowa, was reassigned to a bout with 2008 Olympic judoka Satoshi Ishii.

Join us back here at BloodyElbow.com at 2 a.m. ET on Saturday for live results, play-by-play and discussion of the entire event.

I’m taking Aurelio over Aoki. Who is with me?

Also why did Hansen and Tokoro weigh in at the old DREAM featherweight limit?

Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.

I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.

Was just thinking about that fight too. Aoki has some crazy submission defense and Aurelio is great too so this could very well go to a decision. Purely on stats, Aoki has 6 wins and 2 losses by decision whilst aurelio has 3 wins and 8 losses. Having said that, a lot of aurelios decision losses have come against smothering wrestlers (franca, griffin, guida) so its tough to call.

Awesome match up, but I taking my boy Aoki coz I think he has more submissions in his arsenal. Who knows, maybe we’ll see the “Keiichi Sasahara 2010” again!!!

As long as it doesn’t turn in to a repeat of Aoki/Shaolin. I never want to see Aoki “outstrike” anyone ever again.

Agreed!! I cant believe he actually celebrated and almost boasted about his newly displayed ‘kickboxing’ ability after that fight. If we see a repeat of the Bu Kyung Jung or Caol Uno fight,s whatever the result Ill be happy!

James Thompson (132 kg/290.4 lb) – WTF?!?!
PED or KFC……that is the question!!

Pumped to see the Baka Survivor fight again! Aurelio is gonna be a tough opponent.
On paper its neck and neck.

Aoki – 29 fights
Aurelio – 28 Fights

Aoki – 63% submission finish
Aurelio – 65% submission finish

Neither fighter has been submitted either which makes it interesting.
