Strikeforce: Dan Henderson vs. Renato Sobral Slotted for Dec. 4 in St. Louis
According to MMA Junkie:
A long-rumored matchup between Dan Henderson and Renato "Babalu" Sobral will headline a currently unannounced Strikeforce event slated for Dec. 4 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.
The fight is set for the light-heavyweight division and will air live on Showtime. Additionally, Herschel Walker is expected to fight in the event's co-headliner against an opponent to be determined.
A heavyweight matchup between Fedor Emelianenko and Antonio Silva is unlikely to take place at the Dec. 4 event, but it may be targeted for an event in January that's yet to receive a date and location, sources said.
It's not known if the Henderson vs. Sobral winner will be the next title challenger for Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante's belt or if another contender (Mike Kyle or Gegard Mousasi) will get the first shot.
Dan "Hendo" Henderson (25-8)
Loss Jake Shields - Decision (Unanimous) Strikeforce
Win Michael Bisping - KO (Punch) UFC 100

Renato "Babalu" Sobral (36-8)

Ugh
It’s sad that Hershal Walker is going to get back into the cage before Fedor.

I can’t wait for this one it’s gonna be a good good fight for a few rounds. If Babalu tries what he pulled against Lawlor he’s going sleepy night night but with Hendo’s questionable TDD these days and maybe even some gas tank issues Babalu can threaten with submissions for three rounds and take a UD. I’m going with Hendo but they are both some of my favorite LHW

There is nothing questionable about Hendo’s TDD. Jake Shields is just really fucking good at what he does. When Hendo puts his mind to sprawling & brawling, he is extremely difficult to take down and even more difficult to control. Just ask Paul Harris.
I don't think either Nog had trouble getting him to the mat either.
For me it’s when you say Olympic wrestler I figured he’d be harder to get down that’s all. Renato’s got a decent shot to and some good trips so I believe he’ll be able to get Hendo down.

these fights are why strikeforce exists
they’ll never hold the UFC strap again, but I really just want to see these two fight.
They arent in the UFC anymore so that counts for nothing lol

So ignorant.
And then God created Saturn... and he liked it, so he put a ring on it.
Twitter me and what not.
interesting fight
Just take a way the over hand and Hendo’s stand up drops to very average. In the Sheild’s fight it was gone by the 2rd round and then it just became a ground fight. It’ll be interesting to see if Dan is going to strike and if Babalu tries to go for take downs first.
I’m of the mind that Babalu has the advantage on the ground.

M-1’s facebook page is asking fans whether they want Fedor to fight in December in the states or Japan on NYE. My guess is that Fedor gets a mismatch at Dynamite.

So Fedor vs Overeem then?
That’s right, I went there.

I can take or leave this fight, I amJust not to excited to see Hendo vs Babalu 2 thats all. I know in the the first fight Dan got the W and that happend almost 11 years ago so I can see why SF would book this fight again but its just that I would rather see Dan fight opponents in Strike Force at MW not LHW becasue there are so manny more fights to make there for Dan fighters that he has never faced before. I think even at LHW they should of done Dan vs Mousasi other then this Babalu fight . The bottom line its just not a fight I am to excited to see a part 2 of. But its better then nothing thats for sure or eather fighter fighting a can. I guess It is a quality fight and thats all you can ask for in the end sometimes ?
Good fight, and I feel that the winner of this will most likely get a Title shot against Feijao. Funny how the Strikeforce Light Heavyweight division is actually interesting considering that it only has about eight decent-to-great fighters in it (Henderson, Mousasi, Babalu, King Mo, Mike Kyle, Feijao, Antwainn Britt, Abongo Humphrey).

Damn you M-1
A mainevent of Fedor vs Bigfoot with this as a Co-main plus Walker would have been amazing =(

Wrong...WRONG!
Ugh, Strikeforce. I keep going to bat for you and it’s taking its toll.
Why not have Babalu, who actually won a title shot, take on Feijao, since Mo is out of the BFF picture, and have Henderson vs. Mousasi or Kyle for the next title shot?
What. Is. So. Damned. Hard?

Sweet
Strikeforce’s Facebook just said T-Wood vs Galvao will replace Lindland v Rockhold

"Additionally, Herschel Walker is expected to fight in the event's co-headliner against an opponent to be determined"
so you mean we wont know who his shitty opponent is untill 2 weeks before the fight because ether hershal doesnt want a tough fight or because the shitty people he would fight wont pass a physical
The Red Wings will come back stronger
RESTORE THE ROAR 2010 Detroit Lions
Was really hoping Fedor would be on this card, I’d definitely have gone. But I can’t see driving 3.5 hours for a card co-headlined by Herschel Walker.

good card so far
I think this will be a good fight. I’ve got Hendo taking it, but, could be close. Both are solid vets so that’s gotta be worth something here.
As for Walker, no one should trash the guy just because he’s old. He’s dominated every athletic activity he’s ever done, and he’s a once per generation type of physical specimen. I think he takes MMA very seriously, and I’m excited to see him fight again soon.
