Alistair Overeem had this to say about Fedor's recent challenge:

"About the fight I can be short;

The fight is definite. I've waited long enough for Fedor, [he] did not answer so now I do K-1. Fedor and M-1 may now wait for me. And all that happiness around 'M-1 and characters' does not amuse me. However, the fight 'Overeem vs. Fedor' will definitely [happen], no one has to be afraid of that."

So, now all of the who is ducking who nonsense can hopefully end and we fans will get to see the fight we most anticipated when Fedor signed with Strikeforce. I'm sure there will plenty more drama and histrionics between all parties involved. But, l would think (hope) this quote means Bas Boon and M-1 have come to some key terms that were getting in the way in the past.

Personally, I am tired of all the scuttlebutt that has surrounded these two. But, it is a fight I intensely want to see. The styles of these two fighters should provide for an explosive match up. Alistair's lightning quick knee strikes are something Fedor has rarely seen in his career. Yet, Fedor's devastating casting punch is a perfect counter balance to Alistair's style. I think Fedor will prevail in this match up but it will be wonderful to see him in the cage with a striker of Overeem's caliber.
