No Bonjasky? and is Hari still got legal shite?
Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.
I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.
Remi’s hurt and said awhile back that he won’t be able to participate. I’m disappointed Nathan Corbett was chosen

Remi is about to retire (cause of an eye injury I think?)
And yes, I think that’s why Badr isn’t joining.

It's up in the air, last I heard
But this is the…4th? time he’s had surgery on that eye, and honestly if that’s the case I hope he decides to bow out.
nevermind... October 2nd

Wow. Ok
That’s actually a somewhat winnable fight for him, Catinas is good but not exactly a world beater. I’ll still take Catinas to win because of his more extensive K-1 (& Muay Thai) background though, but it’s a decent first fight for Arlovski under K-1 rules. Hope he does well!
Some other thoughts: no Badr Hari makes me sad. Hope he makes use of his time off and come back with a more clear and focused mind. Too bad about Bonjasky not being able to participate too, although slightly more expected. Great starting field nonetheless, really looking forward to the event!
My winners in these fights:

Andrei Arlovski vs. Raul Catinas
Ruslan Karaev vs. Tyrone Spong

Andrei is going to get lit up in this tournament.
uuuh yeah I write for the Cincinnati Enquirer. Thanks?
Agreed
Raul has very heavy hands, and as we all know, Arlovski’s defense and chin are both extremely fallible. Who knows though, maybe he’ll surprise us.

Im pumped for the Ghita Zimmerman bout
Surprised Sergei is getting another fight here, hopefully he’s in shape. Ghita did mean mean things to his legs.

Well this is one way to see the Overeem/Arlovski fight I've always wanted
Also, Overeem actually has an okay shot at winning this. The competition isn’t incredibly tough this year… other than Schilt, anyway.
"You hear people say, 'You're the greatest,' and all this stuff. It's BS. It's fake, it's all fake. You've just got to keep training as hard as you can. The only thing real is the fight, everything else is fake." - BJ Penn
Yeah if Overeem is able to win this
Hopefully more time will be dedicated on MMA in the coming year. (Barring M-1, Strikeforce shenanigans) He pretty much wants to collect all the belts, K-1, Dream SF, UFC.
Gotta collect’em all!

True, but that caveat about “other than Schilt” is a pretty big one. I’d say Schilt is easily the most dominant K-1 fighter of the past decade. He’s beatable, but it will be a tough road for anyone.
Would love to see Arlovski v. Schilt in the Final 8, just to see how it goes.

Schilt's enough
Unless someone has come up with something really unexpected and effective, I fully expect Semmy to be able to sit behind his long reach and KO three guys en route to his fifth GP.
Don't like wrestling in MMA? Go watch K-1.

It’s a fucking crime that people chose Arlovski over Ignashov. He didn’t even get a spot in a super fight. Poturak, Kharitinov, some Asian dudes and no Iggy, fuck.

Ignashov is injured, I believe.

I said this over at HKL, but I think Catinas is a hand picked opponent to get AA into the Final 8. It’s not that Catinas is bad, because he’s definitely not. But he is very short, and Arlovski will have a massive reach advantage. If Arlovski uses his jab and kicks to keep at range, he could easily pick Catinas apart. What will be interesting is seeing what happens if Catinas gets inside and manages to turn it into a brawl. He’s got heavy hands, which could put Arlovski down, but again, he’s got to wade through that reach, then hit a notably taller target to do it. It’s possible, but it’s no easy task.

K-1
There are deep waters in K-1, Zimmerman, Saki, Semmy, Texiera, Overeem, i think all of these guys will kill Arloski’s ambitions. But to totally undermine what i said i somehow think he could out point Remy, and make a statement. But I doubt we would ever see that.

Sweet, totally stoked on this card, great lineup for sure. Yes, there could/should have been maybe a couple others as mentioned, but with some of the Bigger headlining names out of action for various reasons, why not put in AA? He’s got the skills, he;s got the fan base, now its, does he have the heart an head to hang with the best strikers in the game..time will tell. All in all, Cant wait for this stacked card!! Holdin out hope that we’ll get to see AA vs AO :D
How do you Know where Im at? If you dont Know where Ive been...Understand where Im coming from??

That there will be a change in the WGP lineup, so we could still see Badr, hopefully we will get the Overeem rubber match.
