Quote of the Day: Vitor Belfort : "If I Get My Hands on (Anderson Silva), He Will Not Be Able to Stand"
"If I hit him like Demian and Sonnen did, it's going to be different because I have much more firepower. Still, a fight is a fight, and we know we're two well-conditioned champions. The most important thing is to be well-trained and focused on each second of that fight.
"I know Anderson knows that if my hands hit him, he will not be able to stand on his feet," Belfort added. "No matter who's on the other side of the cage, whether it's Anderson or someone else, I'm going forward. If you look at my last fights, you're going to see how focused I am. I know what I want. I have no doubt about what I want or what I'm able to do, so I'm very motivated."
Vitor Belfort talks to Brazilian TV station Rede (via Sherdog) about UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. Belfort will next face Yushin Okami at UFC 122.

But Vitor isn't good in the clinch.
I could see Anderson/Vitor going like Anderson/Franklin II. Challenger has some limited success striking from the outside before Anderson closes the distance and crushes his face with knees.

Of course, I could also see Vitor/Wanderlei playing out again.
Which is why I would love to see this fight. Too bad Okami’s going to grind Vitor out.

Just charging foward with karate strikes is not a good idea going against Anderson Silva. He is just too good at creating angles/movement.
karate strikes?
vitor is a boxer first and foremost. He talked about training with Machida a bunch but I doubt we’ll see him assume a shotokan stance anytime soon.

he did say in an interview a while back
that he uses his Karate mostly for distance though, and that he trains Karate for a while (asside from when he trained with Machida, which was just for a small period).
the following two things are signs of weaknesses:
stay silent when it's needed to speak up, and speak up when it's needed to stay silent.
You’re motivated and maybe will knock him out…or maybe you will wilt after 2 minutes, flop on your back and lose. So many options.

he should be more worried about okami
I think okami is kryptonite for both Vitor and Anderson. But i would love to see Vitor smash Anderson if Chael got the oppurtinity to drop Silva, than Vitor will put Silva to sleep.

Is it just me?
But i’m actually confident in Vitors chances to rule the divison. And that is not just because of Silvas recent performance. Since his return to the UFC i’ve been an avid believer in Belforts capabilities. His words combined with the way he dismantled Franklin. let’s just say i’ve got a strong feeling about this.
