Brock Lesnar Graces Cover of Newest UFC Magazine
"Wow. This is my coolest one yet. It was a huge win for me, coming back from being sick. I took a major ass-whooping in the first round and to come back and seal the deal in the second – I’m very excited. That’s a cool cover. Thanks to the fans and thanks to the UFC."

Happy for Brock
But UFC magazine is pretty bad. In fact I only find 1-2 of them decent. Plus there’s too much time between publishing for all of these MMA mags so a lot of things are dated. When are we going to have a Bloody Elbow magazine?
Mo Johnston finally fired. Let the house cleaning and road to success begin.
That would be cool, but probabaly never.
The magazine is a dying medium.
"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former - Albert Einstein"
- Goonisis
The magazine as an immediate news source may be dying out, but magazines are still great for longer, more in depth articles and investigations. The only MMA magazine I really like is Real Fighter, and I don’t think it is still being published. RF focuses on historical and cultural issues, so it doesn’t have to be timely.
Recently they had articles on Rorion Gracie’s place in MMA history, on young kids as MMA fans and fighters, on the physiological aspects of aggression, and on homosexuality in MMA. If it’s really gone I’ll miss it.
Cannot wait
Going to 121. My first ufc live. Second mma show. First was fedor-arvloski. Same venue. Hopefully the card stays intact.

I think he's still looks like a gorilla.
but maybe it’s because he had to change up the way he eats, no more 20 pounds of steak a day for him.
yeah that’s what i figure too
he looks leaner which could be a good thing for him goin in against a guy with the speed of cain
don’t get me wrong he’s still huge
but when he flex’s his muscle toward the end of the video his arms look much smaller than i remember.

but not as fast as cain

He certainly is.
I love that he acknowledges the ass-whooping in the first round.
I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.
I’m wondering whether this is the real him and his old antics were fake, or whether he adjusted his personality so he wouldn’t have to take shit.
Particularly someone with Brock's religious beliefs.
I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.
I actually really think Brock has changed in the past year. Some people will ascribe a cynical motive, and I can be fairly cynical as well, so fair play to them. But I actually have the impression of Brock that there’s a pretty down to Earth, Matt Hughes-like Midwestern guy inside there. It’s like he went Hollywood in the pro wrestling years, and it took overcoming a serious illness and reigning now as UFC champion to mellow him out. Going through something like he did will not only make you grateful and more humble, people often are more comfortable in their own skin afterward. When you feel your time as precious and valuable, you’re much less apt to worry about critics and other petty annoyances.
Brock is a superb athlete with a chip on his shoulder, who took a long time to find his place in the sports world professionally. Perhaps he resented not being taken for a serious, elite athlete and whether he enjoyed it or not, having to perform pro wrestling to make a good living. It’s got to be extremely gratifying to finally be taken seriously, and in the most intense sport of all of them, just as the potential to be paid like an elite athlete is coming to fruition. I’m definitely liking this version better anyway.

Brock hasn't changed, not one bit
I mean the illness has made him look at life differently, but he was laughing and joking all this time while people looked at him through hatefilled eyes. He’s the same guy he was when he fought Mir the first time and he’s the same guy now.
There isn’t no “new” Brock Lesnar. I best you can say Brock v2.1 (with Brock v1 being pro wres Brock)

He was joking, but look at his reaction after beating Herring and Mir. Up until now, he hasn’t been an easy going, that stuff doesn’t get to me, sort of guy. He obviously cared a lot what people thought of him, carried a lot of grudges and seemed to have a chip on his shoulder with everyone, media, fans, opponents, whoever. I think coming in the vicinity of dying did change him fairly substantially. As has proving his mettle as a champion in a sport that gets a lot of respect as far as toughness, skill, hard work, and heart are concerned. I know what you mean. He played it all up before this, and I think you’re right, but I think a lot of that came from how he really felt, and he just played it over the top with a me against the world, fuck you all, sort of attitude.

A lot his early interviews can be attributed to nerves, the guy had enormous pressure and media attention for someone with so few fights, almost dying I’m sure contributed to his new demeanor as well.
But I am sure people who are friends with him and know him well probably regard him highly, but the stress of being a champion in a new sport so quickly and having the UFC riding on you as if you were the second coming of Jesus certainly would add to being somewhat tense and coming off as a jerk.
Oh yeah he only recognized himself as "the baddest dude on the planet" one single time in a 90 seconds video
That’s pretty big for brock!
You know who I pray to? Joe Pesci. Joe Pesci. Two reasons; first of all, I think he's a good actor. Okay. To me, that counts. Second; he looks like a guy who can get things done. Joe Pesci doesn't fuck around. Doesn't fuck around.

Well, Brock says thanks to the fans,
King Mo says fuck the fans. I wonder how that affects each guys wallet…
It’s ironic who commands more cash considering Mo’s Mayweatheresque obsession with money.
