Quote of the Day: Roger Huerta: "I'm No Hero"
"To be honest, I didn't want to go [to TMZ], but everybody was, like, 'Maybe you should. You have nothing to hide.' Well, I don't. So it kind of happened like that. But at the same it was very, very weird, man. I was really thankful, to be honest. It could have gone either way, I guess, but then again, if you look at things correctly, you don't do that. You don't fully [hit] a girl behind the head, and especially if you're three times the size of her, and they say he was, like, an NFL player. They say he could have potentially killed the girl ... I believe the case is closed. The guy never came forward or pressed any charges, and it kinda is left at that ... It happened. Would have I done it again if I saw the same thing? Of course. I never expected for any of this to come out the way it came out. I'm no hero, man. I just feel like I did the right thing."

Going to go ahead and disagree with you.
That was one of the coolest things I’ve seen an MMA fighter do outside of the cage. I know a lot of them, and most of them would do the same thing.
Good job Roger, you DID do the right thing.

I met him before he got into the UFC, cool guy.
I met him at a park in the Minneapolis area. He was talking about a fight he had out in cali and said that he was trying to get into the UFC. I didn’t think much of it. And a few months later he is tearing up the UFC. He was a really cool/nice guy, and this proves even more character. Been a fan ever since. Glad to see him doing well.

DUDE HE'S A HERO
he curbed stomped a downed opponent, nothing more heroic than that!
You must not be American… that’s how we do things in America.

I'll never tire of this story.
I absolutely LOVE seeing pieces of shit get their faces kicked in.
Don't gain the world and lose your soul, wisdom is better than silver or gold.
It’s unfortunate that a he is viewed as a hero. All that implies is the average person would do nothing to help a weaker person being abused.
His comment “I’m no hero, man. I just feel like I did the right thing” says it all.
He definately did do the right thing, most of us would have simply looked the other way. We call him a hero simply to justify our own in-action.

since most of us
are helpless like puppies or small children when faced with a former NFL linebacker, I’d say it’s more than a matter of will. Roger is a professional fighter. Him beating up Rashad Bobino was like a lion killing a gazelle more than a fight.

He’s definitely courageous for standing up to that guy, but it’s not like he “saved” that girl from getting hit or from continuing punishment.
Had he, I’d feel the label of hero would have been appropriate.
Instead, his actions were after the fact when the girl was no longer in continued immediate danger. Given that, he definitely punished the guy for his assault.
So by interwebs logic / possible MMATH: Roger Huerta IS the Punisher!
