The fighters opened by exchanging leg kicks through the first minute, Pearson going both outside and inside. After a minute and a half, Miller shot in on a single on Pearson. After a wild exchange, Miller pulled guard but Pearson wasn't biting. Pearson continued in the middle of the round throwing leg kicks and counter striking the limited stand-up of Miller. While Miller didn't work the jab, he did try to use the side kick to keep Pearson away.

Pearson started the round immediately going back to the leg kicks. Miller eventually shot in only to pull guard only to whizzer out in an attempt to sweep him, but couldn't make it happen. However, a right hand from Miller drops Pearson. A follow-up from Miller finishes the job as Miller jumps into the a rear naked choke submission.
