I think that Marquardt vs Paul Harris is a great match up. Nate definitely is better on the feet, but Palhares seems much nastier on the ground. I was very disappointed with Nate’s groundwork against Sonnen. This is a tough call and I would love to see Palhares against some of the other top MW’s, but I have to stick with the Denver guy also.
Palhares struggles against good wrestlers.
Nate has good TD defence…..just not Elite (Sonnen) TD defence.

Arthur Cesar from what I understand is a solid Brazilian wrestler,
and he beat Paul Harris, and we all remember Hendo (not really an ELITE wrestler anymore, just very solid IMO, remember Sheilds?)

Hendo won by yanking his legs out of all the ground attacks and standing up, walking away. Later on, Paulharris claimed Hendo was greased up. Not saying it was true, but I wouldn’t put it past Hendo to baby up those ankles for a W.
I wonder if they will pat down the legs before Marq steps into the cage.

I thought Efrain took the fight with Gunderson on pretty short notice to begin with? There’s been so many changes on this card it’s hard to keep up with, but it was my understanding that he wasn’t signed to be on this card until around a month ago. You could very well be right though. Either way, it’s no excuse for blowing it that bad on the weight cut.

This was before it was finalized, but that still means that he knew there’d be a good chance he’d be fighting in Sept.
Good detective work my friend. He had no excuse for being that out of shape if he’s known he was going to fight for 2 months. He also stepped on the scale weighting 157 this time last year at UFC 103. Apparantly he has difficulty making weight when fighting in Texas in September.

Did Escudero really think he made weight? He had his arms up looking like he was. He looks like he could’ve shed some more weight too, I think he just didn’t want to.

This card is taking place in Texas......
so I am crossing my fingers for the night to go smoothly. Hopefully after this card we won’t see a major promotion return to Texas until their athletic commission can correct some of their issues.
Palhares looks like he could make HW.
He’s got the upper body of one, but then again hes only 5’8. Nate’s a big 185er too but I would give the strength advantage to Palhares.
