 Seriously, Hendricks/Story, Maia/Grove, Bonnar/Igor? This card is awesome and it’s not even 1/4th filled!

I expect some bad TUFer fights to fill out most of the rest of it.

Since Season 5, I haven’t been intrigued by the prospects on the show. Guys on Season 1 were already champions of smaller organizations, and the changing MMA landscape has made the show less and less valuable of a tool for recruiting talent. So expect some fights that should be on regionals to make the televised card.

Those three announced fights are fucking PLENTY for me to be interested though. Story vs. Hendricks is a great fight of super-aggressive up and comers. I hope the winner gets someone like Lytle/Serra winner, Ellenberger, or Nate Diaz. Strong middle of the pack guys who will provide an exciting fight and a great test.

Agreed. And for those reasons you mentioned I don't want TUF to continue.

There are so many outlets to get exposure that TUF has become mostly useless. It’s just there for the ratings.

If Bonnar/Pokrajac makes the main card then that’s fine with me. It means we’ll only get 1-2 “regional show” type of fights on the televised card unless they take a break from commercial breaks to air some prelims.

Also, the TUF Championship fights have become a shell of their former selves

Bonnar/Griffin, Stevenson/Cummo, Evans/Imes, Herman/Grove, and Diaz/Manny (before that unfortunate ending) were great fights compared to stuff like Winner/Pearson, McGee/Jensen, and especially Escudero/Nover.

It went from being a dramatic moment where fighters give it their all to just another fight.

I think that might be true in NA, but elsewhere it is not, there is smaller shows but the best way for someone outside NA to get into the UFC is still the TUF series.

I can’t describe how happy this fight makes me. Two legit welterweight prospects fighting on a Spike TV main card? I’m tickled, to say the least.

Agreed

Bonnar/Igor = Sloppy but entertaining slugfest from Bonnar.

Maia/Grove = Good ground battle as long as Maia avoids standing up.

Hendricks/Story = Wrestler vs. Wrestler who can both strike very well.

Let the wrestlers fight eachother instead of destroying prospects.

Not taking anything away from story, but hendricks deserves a higher profile guy by now.

Hendrick is the better wrestler, and has pretty heavy hands for a WW. Story has a better ground game, but I don’t see the fight going to the ground at all.

I think Hendricks batters Story on his feet for a few rounds before he gets a TKO win.

Anyone that tries to say that the UFC protects its up and comers by giving them cake fights, this is the exact opposite. 2 absolute killers, both on a tear, and one will have to lose…

My guess is gonna be Hendricks because I think he has more power in his hands, and is more elite of a wrestler, although I don’t think his wrestling will make the difference in this fight.

This is a great fight. Hendricks is undefeated, and 6-0 between WEC and UFC, and Story is on a 4 fight winning streak, with his only UFC loss being to Hathaway, and that doesn’t look to bad right now. I think the winner’s next fight will be against a top 10 guy like Kampmann, Alves, or Hardy.
