UFC 119 Preview: Sean Sherk Talks Evan Dunham and Aims for the UFC Lightweight Title

"I want to make a real legitimate run for another lightweight title and I have to be healthy to do that. I feel better now than I have in a real long time."

"I think Evan (Dunham) is tough, he's three dimensional. He's got some striking, some good wrestling and a black belt in jiu-jitsu. He's three dimensional. I think he's going to be a tough opponent; he's not going to lay down for me. He wants the win just as bad as I do."

"Stylistically, it depends on how he wants to fight me. He can press the pace and come at me or he can try to avoid me. ... I have several game plans. You have to have a plan A, plan B and plan C and change it up during the fight."

"I think this fight has the potential to be a good fight, hopefully we'll get some fireworks."

He's three dimensional

Agreed, much better than fighting a cartoon.

Stop it guys

It’s obviously a real picture, stop fighter bashing before you get banned

More fighters need a Plan A, B, and C. It seems a lot of guys go in there and then look completely confused in the second round.

His wrestling

equals his bread and butter. If he can focus on that and not fall for standing and banging, he would have a better chance in winning.

That’s probably one of the four gameplans. Atleast I hope so.

It doesn’t help that Sherk has had such a long layoff. Dunham just beat a very tough Tyson Griffin very recently. Especially with Dunham’s reach and size, I have to go with Dunham to win this.

Sherk is an amazing athlete, but unfortunately his knees are shot and is coming off multiple injuries and a huge layoff. Dunham’s reach is going to give Sherk nightmares, especially if his wrestling is neutralized from the well versed Evan and his screwed up knees.

"I want to make a real legitimate run for another lightweight title"

Then you should have found a way to avoid facing Evan Dunham, bud.

I like Sherk but I want Dunham to win because I don’t want to see Sherk in the title mix again, because he has been a perpetual contender for 3 years or so now.

Dunham should win this — it’s practically a gimme-fight for him.

Sherk has become incredibly frustrating to watch, ever since he stopped wrestling and started to become a deluded boxer it’s all been downhill for him. I hope that if he really wants to make another real run at the title that he finds the guy who used to be the Muscle Shark and not the shell of a fighter he’s become. Because of he does that he can bullly and imposse himself of Dunham but if he wants to box it out he’s going to lose.
