One week after pounding out previously unbeaten Lucas Browne in Australia, it appears former U.S. Olympic wrestler Daniel Cormier (3-0) has already booked a return trip Down Under.
Australian heavyweight Soa Palelei (11-2) tells InfiniteMMA that he and Cormier will battle for the XMMA Heavyweight title on November 6th in Sydney.
Before worrying about Palelei, however, Cormier will have other matters to attend to. Next Friday, August 13th, he'll take on King of the Cage heavyweight champ Tony Johnson Jr. (4-0) in a scheduled five-round title bout. Eight days later on August 21st, Cormier will re-enter the Strikeforce cage to face Jason Riley (9-3) in Houston, Texas.

Holy shit
He isn’t kidding around. I admire his determination, but none of those guys are easy wins. I think that he and Bobby Lashley need to talk about finding a middle ground.

Cormier schedule+ Lashley schedule÷2= middle ground
Makes sense to me

While i think that SF definitely shouldn’t let him fight 1 week before his fight with Riley (esp. on a competing program), i have to applaud Cormier for taking tough fights so early in his career.
His 3rd and 4th pro fight were/are scheduled for 5 rounds and if everything goes smooth his 6th will be a title fight, too.
Yeah if he loses to Riley he’s pretty much guaranteed another 5 rounder
"Ten more seconds is all I ever ask. That's the good thing I learned about being KO'd twice. You don't see it coming -it's like death- you don't plan for it so don't wait for it. So many people are afraid of getting Ko'd that their hands stay home, but not me. I got to go out there and shoot the lights out and fall down" Jens Pulver
oh shit
great fight. get those wins in while you can, old man.

Isn’t that Nick “Afrozilla” Gaston who is fighting Tony Johnson for the KOTC HW title? When did Cormier replace Gaston? That sucks too, every time I’ve seen Afrozilla on HDNet he brings the fight, entertaining guy to watch. If Cormier is indeed fighting Johnson though, good luck to him, he’s trying to do big things.
KOTC?
BE…What’s your source on the KOTC lineup change? The KOTC website it still listing Gaston as being the one to fight Johnson. Exzacht is right. What do you know that Sherdog and other sites don’t?
Catch me on king of the cage next friday vs Tony Johnson. Live on hdnet. And then in Houston. Let’s go DC!
Michael Schiavello also mentioned it on the Ring Psychology podcast.
