the brockness monster grinds up teenagers and puts them in his protein shakes..and uses razor blades to chop toddlers up into lines to snort like meth...the reason no one can find bigfoot is because the brockness monster found him years ago and now has him in numerous ziplock bags in the back of his freezer...

Goofy

Dana’s goofy smile at the start somehow makes me realize he knows the Ariel is the only real MMA reporter at these events (aside from the credible blogging staff!)

I'm from Canada, and they think I'm slow eh!

Besides the fact that the UFC outlaws one of the better MMA journalists, there are still a handful of guys that know what they’re doing.

It is kind of creepy seeing Dana acting calm and quiet about this. Kind of makes me wonder if Pavia is not being fed to gators in the glades as we speak.

He’ll be on Jim Rome Is Burning tomorrow – hooray for Jim having lots of MMA guests

I love Rome but he still doesn't get it.

I listen to his radio show plenty and he routinely says some stupid shit regarding MMA or more specifically the UFC.

With the PTI guys’ attitude towards MMA, it may be a blessing in disguise that they ignore MMA.

It boggles my mind why fighters sign with Ken Pavia.

The UG is filled with stories of him screwing fighters over, the biggest promoter in the business hates him, and he constantly books his fighters in no-win situations.

Is Pavia really such dynamic a personality that he can overcome his truly awful reputation?

by Steve4192 on Aug 5, 2010 11:36 PM EDT reply actions

Boxers HAD to sign with Don King.

At one point, he pretty much controlled the industry.

Pavia has nowhere the kind of juice that King had.

People saw him with the UFC mic and flipped their shit, it was just because he does work with Versus, and Zuffa likes him. Helwani does his job amazingly well, I can watch an interview done by him with a virtual unknown and I’ll know that it’s gonna be interesting, because Ariel knows how to work the mic.

What I like is that he asks interesting questions in an articulate way, and doesn’t get thrown when the interviewee “no comments” or changes subject on him. He doesn’t push hard enough to piss people off, but he puts them in a position where they actually have to say SOMETHING even if it’s just to say that they aren’t going to discuss that point. That he does it all while seeming to maintain a pretty friendly relationship with everyone is amazing.

UFC 117 stacked on talent? Yes!

Will it be a better fight card than 116?

I hope so, but I can see several fights being duds.

116 was prob the card of the year

as far as entertainment value goes, ufc 116 was by far the best card of the year. On paper 117 has it beat by a mile, but I don’t know if it’ll end up as exciting as it looks

117 can go either way

Instead of the US vs Brazil it should be called KTFO vs LnP

Thanks Anderson!

I’m actually grateful now for Anderson’s performances against Cote, Leites, & Maia because it caused the UFC to create one of the most stacked cards in recent memory around him in hopes to draw a buyrate.

Good job Silva!

I think it is funny they are doing all the PR work in SF and not Oakland.
