…did Brett Rogers get cut from SF?

I'm going to absolutley decimate this motherf**ker, I haven't been in the dictionary to see what it actually means but I'm guessing it's going to be something in the way of just killing a motherf**ker." -Paul Daley (on the definition of Decimate)
no
strikeforce contracts aren’t exclusive. they can fight in other orgs if OK’d.
such as Prangley in Shark Fights, Mayhem in Dream, etc.
ahhh…gotcha

If the title as it is now is what you were referring to...
…then Mr. Black Lesnar here has it the best. Unless he had it all kinds of capitalized and what not.
And then God created Saturn... and he liked it, so he put a ring on it.
Twitter me and what not.
Not smart to win this one
A loss will put him back in SF HW Title contention.

I was going to complain
but it actually makes sense for all parties. Brett needs a fight to bounce back to and Strikeforce doesn’t have the TV card space to waste it on Warpath, so let Brett earn some money getting a tune up in a small promotion. WIn/win. Even for Warpath who could use the paycheck.
I read they were trying to set up a a match between Rogers and Griggs, but I guess that means either they are booking Griggs with Cormier or Rogers didn’t want to wait.
And the important thing is he’s getting paid, a fight, and after two losses isn’t getting tossed to the wolves. All things considered, It’s a positive.
*Spoiler Alert*
Rogers knocks Warpath’s head off and there is a controversy over a fighter not getting the money he was promised.

Great Scheduling
Nice job W-1, picking an otherwise MMA-free weekend ensures a lot of MMA blog coverage with no stories to overshadow you.
Say what you want about these small promotions, but they are seriously media savvy!
Wait, Brock who? Aww you’re kidding me…

My first thought
Nothing like being on a regional MMA card the same night as a Brock Lesnar PPV.
I know SF contracts are open, but I remember a bunch of people saying he had 1 fight left on his deal before the Fedor fight. Anyone know if he re-signed or what? Or if that was even legit?

While I never thought Rogers was an elite HW
He is certainly better than what he showed against Overeem. Rogers needs to not be so tentative to strike anymore, I’m gonna guess it had to do with his KO from the CBS show.
The Fedor effect
It happened to Sylvia, Arlovski, and now Rogers. These are HW MMA fighters whose job requires that they be very confident and feel near-invincible. Fedor beating them down so convincingly kills their mojo.
You could see that when Fedor threw Rogers down, he scrambled back up immediately. When Overeem did the same, he just layed on his back, and that was the beginning of the end.
Rogers had fear for the first time. Sylvia got so insecure that he packed on the pounds and became a sitting duck for Mercer. Arlovski was so scared that he did nothing but feign and then when Rogers attacked he backed straight up instead of ducking and circling like a boxer should.
Agreed ...
there is something to be said about your theory … all guys after Fedor have sunk … of course leading to the theory that Fedor fights bums … which is not true … Fedor is 230 and chunky … he could easily fight at 205 …
They may well be bums
But it’s the spectacular way that they sunk which makes you think Fedor has an effect. Seeing that unassuming Russian kick your ass makes you look at everyone else in a different way.
Rogers actually wasn’t bad off his back. He made most of the right moves and had passable timing. I was surprised to see it on the replay, but the clinch toss was so overwhelming an impression that it sort of shaded everything else.

If Couture deserves a gimme every once in awhile, why not Rogers?

Wait a minute
Did you just compare Brett fucking Rogers to Randy Couture?

Yes, yes he did.

MN ftw
Yager has a tough fight! Ive had the chance to see Jeremy Hamilton fight a couple of times. He’s a stud. Tall and lanky with good counter striking and good submissions off his back. He also comes from the same gym as Brett. As does Pat Schilling, who has also looked very good on the local circuit.
Will be attending
if for no other reason then to see Brett hit Warpath so hard that he shits in his singlet.
Let's get naked and see who's stronger.
