Pat looks like he’s put on a few extra pounds since the Crocop fight, but damn can he kick.
Fear is temporary regret is for ever.
I don’t think it actually measures how hard you hit.

I was bummed I didn’t get a chance to meet him at the expo. He seems generally excited about being in the UFC and doesn’t look like he takes it for granted.
Met Barry 2 years ago just before his Tim Hague fight.
He came to our gym outside of New Orleans and led a kick boxing class. The dude is a friggin’ beast, and one of the most genuine people you could hope to meet.
Hype or die!
He had no almost no line (10 ppl) when I got a pic with him, hebwas just standing there. He said we couldn’t handle the techno viking when I asked. Lol

Zaromskis unleashed a sweet spin kick on the iboxer
Zaromskis, please learn to block punches and move down to LW. You are awesome even in defeat.
It's an insult to humanity to mention Criss Angel. Anywhere.

Am I wrong for wanting him to screw up one of his solo tricks in hilariously painful fashion??

No you are not.

Dayum - Great to see his foot's better
You have to hit REALLY hard to make that thing go above 900. The fact that he was doing it so easily speaks volumes to his striking ability.
I saw a flabby women punch up to 915
Those machines have a spot on them where if u hit it, it will automatically jump up to 900.
I was coming to say this. It’s almost more important where and what angle you hit it than it is how hard.
by SplitBreast on Aug 31, 2010 11:35 AM EDT up reply actions
Thats true
My super un-athletic 250lb cousin backhanded one of those machines and reached 980
yeah those machines are responding to how fast the ball gets sent.. not with how much force(physics geeks help me out here) is behind it. I would guess his leg kick would be much worse than a punch from gsp in real terms..
they do actually..... just not in the way he was saying
the angle makes all the difference in the world. where first contact is made determines if the force pushes the bag on the track or if most of the force pushes the bag towards a direction the bag cant travel because it is on a lever. I have scored 900 on the same machine using a ridge hand. My punch(which is harder) scores in the low to mid 8’s. I am sure i punch harder but i am 6’4 so my punch pushes the bag down, where as the ridge hand or hammer fist pushes it straight back. So i will get a better score using those strikes. I will dump money in everyone of those machines i see until i have the high score. it’s a sad compulsion :-( Barry’s kick would put the bag into orbit if it was at the right angle. That guy hits scary.

While the-gentle-way is correct, waldog was talking about something different. He sort of makes sense, except he meant impulse instead of force. Impulse is the integral of force over time.
The impulse that any given punch imparts on the ball depends on the elasticity and mass of the ball. Different punches (speed, arm mass, and follow through) will be optimally matched to different balls. I would imagine that Rampage, GSP and especially Barry would destroy Angel if the ball weighed more.
Cro Cop would of sent that machine to the scrap yard if he kicked it.

how is the fact that chris angel hit harder than gsp not the main article?

Let them trade punches...
… I bet GSP would even let Angel go first.
gsp would be scared to trade with kriss angel
he would take him down right away.
Maybe they are all tuned different
maybe it’s the angle of the shot, but the rednecks in my town kill those machines. Big country boys hitting 950+ with standing punches.
I met Pat Barry at the Expo this weekend.
Super friendly and cool guy, as you would expect. He took lots of pictures with fans and had a huge $hit-eating grin for every picture.
My friend I was with was wearing a Cro Cop shirt, which Pat loved. I asked Pat if he was still boys with Cro Cop and he showed us a text message on his iPhone that he got from Mirko (which was awesome), and basically Cro Cop said if he comes out of the Mir fight relatively unscathed, then he wants a rematch with Barry ASAP. Although I imagine that rematch would only happen if Cro Cop loses to Mir.
Oh and Barry said that if his rematch with Cro Cop doesn’t happen, his next opponent is likely Stefan Struve.
Poor Stefan!

Way off topic here, but if you watch the recommended video of Gerald Harris punking Pat Berry about leg kicks (which wasn’t really funny), it leads to Harris’ fight with Jay Ford and damn that was a beating. Besides being a little sloppy on the ground, Harris just plain fucked him up. A perfect slam and a nasty elbow. Great fight that I hadn’t seen before. Definitely recommend it.
