Shooto Brazil 17 Fight Card

Shooto's South American branch is hosting one of its most important cards to date this Friday, with two world titles on the line and veteran referee Mario Yamasaki flying down to officiate.

Recent Strikeforce signee Siyar Bahadurzada (Golden Glory) will put his 183-pound belt on the line against Brazilian vet Carlos "Indio" Pereira (Dragon Fight Team), who hasn't lost a bout since 2007.

Fighting for Shinya Aoki's recently-vacated 167-pound strap will be South American title holder Luiz "Beicao" Ramos (Nova Uniao) and the Nogueira-trained Igor "Chatubinha" Fernandes, current #5 in the world Shooto rankings.

Siyar Bahadurzada vs Indio

is an interesting fight. I think Siyar should cut down to welterweight, but I’m about to give up on him as a major prospect.
Is there something about shooto rules that leads to parity and a lot of .500 records?

Always had high hopes for Siyar, before he lost to Santiago I thought he’d have similar success to Mousasi.

For goodness sake, keep Walter Junior a safe distance away from Emanuel Silva.

I’m told all fighters made weight at today’s weigh-ins, will post full results if I come across them.
