What are we supposed to be impressed by?
are we supposed to be impressed with someone +6’ being able to touch the rim?
Now that is impressive. 5’ 9" Nate Robinson winning the NBA dunk contest.
tssssssssst
by higgledy-piggledy on Aug 27, 2010 10:51 AM EDT reply actions
Nate Robinson def should not have won the dunk comp as many times as he has. He wasn’t doing any amazing dunks. It was simply the fact that he is 5’9 and I don’t think someone should be punished for being taller when the do way more impressive dunks.
?
How many times Nate Robinson won the Dunk contest doesn’t interest me.
My point is, being over 6’ and being able to touch the rim isn’t impressive. Earl Boykins is 5’ 5" & can dunk.That is impressive.
Create a Fanpost on why Nate Robinson shouldn’t have won the dunk contest (x) times.

Well if it doesn’t interest you, you shouldn’t have mentioned him winning the dunk competition you should have simply mentioned him being able to dunk…so if something doesn’t interest you then dont mention it in your post.
a caption to a picture is hardly a “mention”; Secondly, your comprehension is lacking. Nate Robinson has nothing to do with this topic apart from illustrating someone a lot shorter the Carwin being able to dunk.
You may recognise Nate Robinson from a picture, but not everyone watches Basketball, recognises NBA players and can recall their heights.

for sure
He wasn’t doing anything Spud Webb didn’t do two decades earlier.

Here's the thing
I’m off the bandwagon and I’m more than a little disturbed by his public persona, but Shane Carwin is still going to fuck up about 98% of the HWs on Earth.

And still pose no threat to anybody on the court.
I’m an out of shape guy shorter than Carwin (6’) and I can easily grab the rim. Maybe he needs to talk to his supplier.

That's the first step in combating lactic acidosis.
If I wake up tomorrow and see that the world has ended, then that means God has finally granted my prayers.
GO Armageddon!!!
Ha
So let me get this straight….
Shane Carwin is 6’2"
Shane Carwin has an 80" reach, which means he can reach, roughly, 2 ft over his head.
Shane Carwin has a 22" vertical jump. Wow, what an athlete.
You gotta pay the troll toll, to get into this boy's soul.
by WestbergIDFC on Aug 27, 2010 11:18 AM EDT reply actions 3 recs
LOL!
I think Carwin got the impression the “web” was impressed b/c trolls were doubting his initial dunk video. Hence the measuring tape to verify a 10’ rim height.
However, as you point out, it’s not impressive.

Is there any debate about how much cooler BJ is than Shane?
I mean, BJ isn’t the coolest guy in the world, but Shane’s personality… man wooden doesn’t describe it. Lead-based?

Didn't watch since I'm in a deposition

@deowade
Wait… you’re an attorney?
Shouldn’t you be paying attention to the deposee? But I don’t blame you. Depo’s are dreadfully boring.
"Girls are mean." Lisa Ward
Not an attorney
A Videographer, so I only have to monitor audio levels and make sure the deponent is visible on the video. And yes, they are outlandishly boring. Today is no different.
Walking the line between intelligence and ignorance since 1985
@deowade
I sat in one that was exciting. The opposing counsel got angry (and crazy) and said he was going to fight with one of the attorneys because of the questions he was asking.
There have been other times where people say some funny things, albeit, they don’t mean for them to be funny.

I kid you not
An attorney once said that’d he would have pulled a knife during the deposition if we’d have been in Alabama. Also had a crazy attorney that came in rocking a Sunday church hat and an old west Six Shooter gun belt. Fun times.
Walking the line between intelligence and ignorance since 1985
@deowade
What kind of craziness?
I’ve had some/seen some crazy/terrifying things in court, too.
"Girls are mean." Lisa Ward
Crazy Attorney walked in
Said some celtic prayer to cleanse the room, rubbed a rabbit’s foot because it was tuesday, stood at a podium while everyone else sat at the table, said some other prayer after we went off the record, and then talked about our aura’s while I packed up my equiptment. Can’t make this shit up.
Walking the line between intelligence and ignorance since 1985
@deowade
Oh
And depositions in prisons are no fun either. It’s eerily quiet.
Walking the line between intelligence and ignorance since 1985
@deowade
Thank God I never had to go to a prison, however, I’ve gone to the federal court house many, many times and the prison is right across the street… near a playground, too.
I’ve also gone into a judge’s chambers where she must’ve had a convict in there because right when I walked in there were federal guards pointing big guns at me. I got really scared. I thought I did something wrong.
"Girls are mean." Lisa Ward
haha
That’s crazier than anything I’ve witnessed.
I can’t keep a straight face—I’m sure I would’ve laughed.
Depo’s of rich people are a pain, too. Before the depo starts they make like 18 different demands. One woman wanted certain type of cookies that you can only get at one shop cross-town. She also wouldn’t let anyone touch her fur hat. It wasn’t even cold out.
"Girls are mean." Lisa Ward
Oh god yes
Certain types of water, etc

Never had the crazy demands
But I had a billionaire a few weeks ago, that name dropped more than a fighter that’s trying to get a serious payday from his sponsors. This depo is dumb slow today. Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Walking the line between intelligence and ignorance since 1985
@deowade
It’s still going on!?
The longest I’ve ever been in one was four hours. At least you’re just recording and not having to sit there with a legal pad and actually pay attention and take notes.
"Girls are mean." Lisa Ward
This one isn't terribly long.
Just dumb boring. I have a few 12-13 hour depositions under my belt. So this is nothing.
Walking the line between intelligence and ignorance since 1985
@deowade
I'd rather see Carwin's crossover
Him touching rim doesn’t really impress me.

After seeing the size of that order he made from the Alabama pharmacy...

If you don’t like the tone, set the tone. Write something positive. Contribute something of value. Bitching is contributing to the tone you say you don’t like.
