My UFC 118 Predictions and Announcing a Comcast SportsNet - SBNation Partnership
Let me introduce you to The Fight Fix. This is a weekly series covering intriguing topics in MMA. It's created by producer Dustin Green, the gentleman to the right of the screen. He's a producer at Comcast SportsNet and the host of The Fight Fix. I'm proud to announce that SBNation, and more specifically this site, has entered into a content partnership with Comcast SportsNet via The Fight Fix.
Here's how this will work. Every week we'll publish the latest edition of The Fight Fix here and on SBNation.com/MMA. I'll be making guests appearances every so often to offer analysis, predictions and whatever else you guys want to see.
You can follow The Fight Fix on Twitter and "Like" them on Facebook. For now this is a web property from Comcast SportsNet. But I can tell you the folks there are big fans of MMA and increasingly becoming invested in this sport. If you guys take care of their MMA efforts, they'll take care of you and MMA.
And I'd like to say, on a more personal note, I'm thrilled to be involved in a parternship with Comcast SportsNet. We've now established relationships with real third-party media like USA TODAY, CBS Radio and now Comcast SportsNet. I don't think any other site in all of MMA has this many partners with big media. We are honored to be working with CSN and look forward to creating the kind of content MMA fans can use and appreciate.
So, spread the word about this. Post it on message boards and let folks know The Fight Fix is here. Thanks for watching and here goes nothing.
p.s. Yes, I know I picked all favorites. I didn't realize I had done that until I saw the odds after the video. I also realize Maynard went to Michigan State and not the University of Michigan. You'll just have to forgive me.

Florian over Maynard?
Maynard is going to grind on Florian for the majority of three rounds. He might get cut in the process but he’s taking a decision without too much trouble.
Also that guy seemed really uncomfortable the whole time, you say he’s a fan but I got the impression that he has no idea what you’re talking about for pretty much the whole video. Hopefully in subsequent episodes he’ll loosen up a bit.

So if the videos do well with views, will that make CSN more willing to cover MMA?
Good job making the connections. The video quality in terms of production is lacking, but it’s better then nothing.
And lose the sweater, it makes you look less professional. Sports hosts tend to have a uniformity in appearance and it works best aesthetically.
Any hopees or ideas for after the merger?

Bad choice of words
“whatever else you guys want to see”
I foresee a lot of requests for naked bearded monkey-love.
Don't believe a word I say, I don't train BJJ.

Did you just call Luke a monkey?

Overall good job
Luke,
Unlike Helwani, you are fortunate in that you have a better “look” for TV. Haircuts, clothes, etc. can all be easily fixed, and the TV people know that. Also, you have good substance, which of course never hurts.
Speak more slowly though. You seem to be a fast-talking guy naturally, plus there is likely a bit of nerves. You speak with enthusiasm, which is good, just slow it down.
Thanks for the feedback
Although I’ll have everyone know that two producers told me my look here was great. For Washington Post Live I’ll need a suit (and I would never wear anything else), but my haircut, beard and clothes are $.

Speaking as a sometimes bearded man, I noticed that your 'stache is very full...
…you can’t really see your upper lip. You might also get bubbly gum in the ol’ push broom!

Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

Luke,
great job as always! You and Ariel are the only non-fighters in MMA that ALWAYS come off like you know exactly what you’re talking about, and why you’re saying what you’re saying. I can’t wait till you’re credentialed and putting the screws to Dana White on tough issues.
btw, the beard…wow, just wow.
More Why & How
The Diaz – Davis breakdown was the best. When I watch a sports television analyst I want to know specific details and connections that I might not have drawn.
The trap, I think, with the format is when someone tries to fill in a narrative around the fight rather than focusing on how the narrative of the fight itself might unfold.
Also, while I am going to remember if something you told me to look for happens during a fight, I’m not likely to remember who you picked.
Overall quite good.
As far as the future: I’d just like to see exactly what BE is in print translate into new media; especially the fan content and technical stuff. I suspect there is plenty of expertise within the community.
