Vasquez is so damn good.
Which sucks because I really like Semerzier and I think he’s on his way out the door. But Vasquez is definitely someone to keep an eye on in the FWs.

I trained BJJ with Vazquez for a few months, and he was between MMA fights because he had knee trouble. He looked dominant here though, fuck. That was a clinic.
watched this yesterday. dunno how vazquez ain’t on the main card.

Demote that Mendes guy to prelims until he gets his shit together, it’s rare to see a boring fight in the WEC but that guy is the epitome of a boring wrestler.. sad stuff

It's not even that
WEC is known for great prelims. Mendes does finish every now and then but he’s still very raw. Just keep a guy like Mendes on the prelims until he has some highlight reel stuff to show off. I guess they’ll probably learn, they are the WEC after all.

Yeah, I don’t actually remember seeing any of his fights before this one, so he might have some good stuff that I’m unaware of. But after that display I wouldn’t feel sorry if I never see him again, just a shame to have a guy drag down an otherwise excellent card. You’re hopefully right, I don’t see them doing the mistake of putting him on the main card the next time around, considering what great fights and fighters they have on their prelims every time there is no reason to give this guy another chance to kill ratings and bore people to death.

I feel bad for Semerzier. I’m a fan, and I was really excited after the upset against Fabiano. It sucks that it most likely a fluke. He hasn’t looked good at all since. Hopefully the Fabiano win will get him one last chance, but I won’t be shocked if WEC cuts him.

very impressive
two standing sub attempts, wow, i like feather weights that aggressively look to end a fight, which is one of the main issues i have on the WEC. i can sit and watch a jon fitch fight just like the rest of you, but when i know there are going to be 4 to 6 decision fights, i cant do it. awesome fights in the WEC, but at some point i would like to see consistent finishes. this card in particular had a few good finishes. def agree that first round was 10-8

Also, I stumbled upon Jewtuszko – Njokuani prelim on youtube, just posted it in fanshots.. link here for lazy people. Check it out if you haven’t seen it yet, another good prelim fight from WEC 50 with a nice finish

That was simply amazing. Vasquez fought the perfect fight. I hope Mackens doesn’t get cut though. The win over Waggney forced the WEC to put him in there with some killers too soon.
