I just got back from buying my tickets for Shark Fights 13: Jardine vs Prangley. During a promo at a local store I spoke with Shark Fights President Brent Medley, and got some interesting news. He seems confident that at the very least HDNet will pick up the show. But more importantly, he is flying out to meet with the VP of Fox Sports Net this afternoon. Not only does this mean millions more potential viewers, but also major ad revenue available to the promotion.
Now, those of us familiar with Bellator's unfortunate habit of being preempted, I asked him if that was a problem they were looking to counter. He claims that Bellator neglected to prevent that type of thing in their contract. So, he seems to think that if they can get on FSN, they will not get the same treatment as Bellator has gotten this year.
Of course, I'm not sure what this means for a broadcasting team, as I was hoping to meet The Voice. But, they have had Bas Rutten and Don Frye call the fights for their online PPVs before. I know this is far from official news, but those of you as pumped for this card as I am may yet get to witness it.
