I love where Gomi has his head at
Training full time in the US is a good idea. We’ll get our Japanese Champion yet!
ALL OF YOU LISTEN TO MEE, DON'T DISTURB HERE, I WILL CALL POLICE CATCH YOU, DON'T COME TO MY BANGOLOW HOUSE, UNDERSTAND, O.K. I HATE ALL OF YOU.

I was just gonna say the same thing
He comes across as such a great dude. Couple that with being a training genius. No arrogance whatsoever despite his huge success. Floyd Mayweather Snr could learn a lot from this guy.
Gomi seems to have his head on straight again.
It took K-Flo destroying him to do it, but hey.
Excellent interviews.
Gomi is the fucking shiznit. I hope they give him a good match up. Someone with a weak chin and low hands.

Gomi was really spot on with his self-analysis.
My wife asks me before just about every fight, “Who are we rooting for?” I give her some personal details about each fighter, a couple anecdotes and a little about what a win will mean for each guy in terms of his career.
So for Griffin/Gomi I ended with something like, “Tyson’s probably going to win. He’s a smaller fighter with no reach, but he’s too smart to try to get into a stand-up fight with Gomi, so if he’s going to win it, it’ll be a on the ground with some good ground-n-pound and probably a decision. He’s got the energy and the wrestling to make this a long slow fight. But we’re rooting for Gomi. He’s been struggling in his career for the last few years, but he’s an exciting fighter with a ton of heart. It seems like he hasn’t had the drive to really get in shape and do what he needs to be the best anymore. But if he wins it’ll be explosive and it’ll be decisive. We want Gomi to win.”
And then he came out and I said, “Holy shit, he looks like he’s in shape!”
Then Tyson came out and was too dumb to just take Gomi down so he could make all my dreams come true. :-)
Don't believe a word I say, I don't train BJJ.
I blog at TangleBones - you should follow me on Twitter here.
If you like it, you should put a rec on it.
Anybody know if the interpreter/translator was UFC appointed or from Gomi’s camp. if it was from the UFC i think they should also have an official Portuguese interpreter coz I dun believe a word Ed soares translates somehow his translation is really short compared to the fighters speaches.
I believe Soares' response to that was
Something like “you try remembering all of what he just said!”
