Interesting
I actually like this alot, could help out with PPV-Buys and it is just more MMA exposure on TV. I think it is just an overall good move for the sport
Hope they do this for every card
and that Spike realizes that they should show the prelims for every card and not limiting the number per year.
I think Junkie reported the UFC is trying to make "Prelims on Spike" a permanent feature
For their PPVs. Exceptions for me would be the shows in England and Abu Dhabi or anywhere where the live broadcast won’t be 10 PM ET/7 PM PT here.
Nick Garcia is the Brian Russell of MLS but 10 times worse.
I think its just stupid that it already isn't permanent.
I bet the prelims get spike more viewers than anything else they would show instead of it.
It still costs money to produce
And this is the first year they’re testing it out so now that it works I think it will be permanent.
Nick Garcia is the Brian Russell of MLS but 10 times worse.
So. Serious question: If they are going to be Live on Spike, why wouldn’t they be @ 7pm EST as opposed to 4pm EST?

I'm not sure
but I think weigh-in times always differ for every event
Understood, but you would think they would want to attract as many people as possible to watch (and promote the fight). Also it was listed as 7pm originally on the fightclub website. No matter – have to adjust the itinerary a bit.

I’d imagine the level of programming that Spike has at 7 is more expensive and more widely viewed then at 4.
If they’re just dipping their toe in the pool with doing the weigh-ins, they’re not gonna bump, say, a CSI episode (which I’m sure has real solid viewership and is expensive to syndicate) when they can bump a World’s Wildest Police Chases 48.

Nice find
Glad to see weigh-ins on TV… shame ESPN won’t do it like they did for UFC 100.
