sheesh. it was legal. bad positioning by Cote and Belcher took advantage of it.

dude he simply addressed it because it was such a huge issue after the fight…there were a couple articles on this very website dedicated to it
Actually of all the things he talked about it the headspike is what he spent the least time on

He should still complain.
If Cote head was downward more it would be illegal but because he got spiked on his face its not illegal?!? It didn’t look that much different from the marquart vs leites spike. Both very dangerous and you land wrong you could break a neck. im just guessing.

he wasn't spiked directly onto his head/neck
Yes, his face was driven into the mat, but it’s not like he was piledriven here. IIRC, Cote was much more spread out, with less of a chance to compress his spine.

I like Cote but . . .
I don’ t think time will be generous with him. He just turned 30 years old. He’s had a number of injuries. It’s going to be a long while before he will be able to compete for the MW title.
Two consecutive losses, he needs a win.
