what really sucks is ...
i can’t watch this card until Wednesday. i’m in San Francisco for a wedding, and we’re going to do the tourist thing for a bit. thank god for DVR. so basically i have to avoid BE until midweek.

At least you don't live in Italy
You know how hard it is for me to watch these cards live? Ugh.
Remember when we were breaking up and I told you I hoped that thing on your leg turned out to be cancer? That was just the wounded little boy in me talking.
ugh.
as big a fan as i am, that would kill me, too. hope you don’t lose too much sleep catching the card tonight!

I rearranged my sleep schedule the last few days.
No way I am missing a Jones fight.

I'm sort of rooting for the Janitor
Riddle has a stand up style that is exciting to watch. I have to root for Stann as well. Good card for free.
Kimmons wins via decision
There is no way Steinbeiss stays now.
Nick Garcia is the Brian Russell of MLS but 10 times worse.
Well I hope Oliveira/Elkins makes the broadcast.
Nick Garcia is the Brian Russell of MLS but 10 times worse.
Elkins executes a double-leg takedown. From there, Oilveira goes for a triangle and then switches to an armbar. Elkins is toast as he falls to his back as Oliveira stretches his arm. The tap comes at the 41 second mark.
Through a translator, Oliveira says he was expecting to be taken down: “When I put in the triangle it was already done.”
another triangle choke
good job stann

I don't know what's more impressive:
Stann win by sub, or Stann doing something other than looking helpless on his back.
Oh crap, Irvin lost.
That’s gotta be it for him.

Igor Pokrajac defeats James Irvin via RNC
So Long Sandman
I was reading the chat at heavy.com and apparently Igor clearly didn’t have the neck but had Irvin’s jaw, so possibly broke it which forced the tap. I’m very curious to see that fight now.

Considering how bad the UFC's pacing is for free shows
Pray for a ton of early finishes in the main card.

I love how there are some many articles about how hardly anyone wins by submissions anymore but yet 3 out of 4 fights end by submission so far.
I think its a two-fold issue
At levels below top-10 or top-15 in each division, they probably happen as often as ever, its at the highest levels, with the most well-rounded guys that it applies to.
And, they still are viable at the high levels and even elite levels, but generally not as a primary technique. In other words, after guys get rocked, during heavy GnP (by the guy on top), or even during scrambles, sure, but the days of the elite guys getting submitted while in top control, even in the guard, are essentially over, excepting situations like Fedor’s boneheaded decisions against Werdum.

I think the injuries + loss against the Spider
Broke him for good.

Add in that weight cut to 185...yikes.
I like Fedor, it’s just his fans that are intolerable...and his management.
They said Igor's shoulder hit Irvin in the jaw

Good for Stann, I’m glad he was able to get a nice win. Hopefully he’ll find himself on the televised portion of a Fight Night card next.
Too bad for Irvin. I think he’ll be cut but he seems to be a favorite of Dana’s so who knows? Maybe they tell him to go the Jardine route, try to get a few Ws in a smaller show then try coming back.

From Heavy.com chat
Jeremy Botter: James Irvin told me that it wasn’t a choke that put him out. He was already mostly out of it from the slam and was “in la la land” when he tapped.
