Community Interview: UFC Star Joe Lauzon as He Prepares for UFC 118 Showdown on Spike TV
After the tremendous feedback from our first attempt, I've decided to give this another go. Joe Lauzon is one of MMA's most approachable and down to earth fighters. After bursting onto the scene with a dynamic win over the lovable Jens Pulver, Lauzon went immediately into The Ultimate Fighter house. One of the coaches that season? Jens Pulver.
Lauzon has compiled a 5-2 record in the Octagon and will be featured by SPIKE TV in their broadcast of the UFC 118 preliminaries, part of the UFC's initial assault on Lauzon's native Massachusetts. His opponent is tough British prospect Terry Etim, a fight that will no doubt be one of the darkhorse candidates for fight of the night (Lauzon has won five bonuses for either fight, knockout, or submission of the night in just seven career UFC appearances).
Joe Lauzon has seen and done an amazing amount in his short career. What are your questions?

I’ll start with the obvious one – Are you and your brother on speaking terms right now? Do you think you’ll be able to mend fences and work together MMA-wise in the future?

Do you regularly read MMA blogs and forums?
You gotta pay the troll toll, to get into this boy's soul.
Actually.
Since I (and I know I`m not the only one) find the nickname J-Lo to be Lame-O, I`d prefer the phrasing: "Why do you keep the nick “J-lau” when you recieve so much flack for it? And why don`t you use Creepy Joe Lauzon instead?"
Personally, I think Creepy Joe Lauzon would be awesome.

“Psycho” Joe Lauzon sounds cool or maybe Joe “Hannibal” Lauzon.

Creepy Joe would be a pretty sweet nickname.

After considerable thought, I would like Joe to change his nickname to “Killer Joe”, in homage to Benny Golson’s awesome song.
Then he could use the song as his walk out music! :P

If the WEC was a financially viable option, or if the UFC absorbed the featherweight division, do you think you could make 145? And would you like to fight in that division?

What is your favorite Pokemon?
I asked Joe once but I forgot what he said. Plus, I sent him a picture I took of him that he asked for, said he’d blow it up and sign it. LIES!! But he also helped me when my Safari browser crashed repeatedly and also recommended Bova’s in Boston.
Awesome fighter.

What have you been working on since the Stout fight?
Etim is arguably a more dangerous striker than Stout, at least when it comes to delivering singular damaging blows; how will that play into your game? Are volume striking and combinations more daunting for you than someone who consistently delivers knockout power?
Also, Etim’s only losses have come at the hands of strong grapplers dominating from top position, so will that be the game you try to impose on him?

I think all the MMA Q's are being covered, so here's some questions for the nerdy side of Joe...
What video games are you playing the most right now, and what games are you excited for in the near future?
What do you think about EA MMA so far?
What’s your XBL gamer tag so I can roll you up in Undisputed 10? :P

Easy.
Fuck Oprah (do it right and you might get some of that Steadman money). Kill Barbara (the fucking View…need I say more?) and marry your wife (if you chose to fuck or kill her rather than marry her, you know you’re in trouble).
