Geez, Aoki is gangly. Hope Crusher lives up to his name.
And the official signing ceremony 5 days before the fight? what a joke.

It's a Ceremony
They have ceremonies for everything over there. This fight has been official since at least May 29th (DREAM.14).
Looks like a funeral...
I like Fedor, it’s just his fans that are intolerable...and his management.

I was going to post the exact same response to that photo

LOL
It looks like a waiter wandered into the shot.
“Psst …. Shinya, go grab me some more bread and a refill for my water”
seriously, have they heard of strength training over there?
Aoki, your grappling is already good enough, but you aren’t strong enough to use it on anyone who’s ever lifted weights. Dude needs a sandwich and a strength coach if he wants to really be the best

Aoki is a surprisingly strong guy. Body size is not necessarily an indicator of strength at all.

it’s not the be-all-end-all indicator, but it usually means a leat a little bit. i’m sure he’s very suprisingly strong for how twiggy he looks (extensive grappling practice does that), but he had nothing in the strength department for Melendez, and it’s not like Gilbert is some monster lightweight compared to the rest of the Americans/Brazilians/Euros. I’m just saying, if he wants to have a godd chance stepping up in competition, he needs to get his grow on, and then cut.

I think it's more about his application of strength into power via leverage
I don’t think he knows how to use his entire body as one to generate power like most wrestlers are trained to do. It’s a different way of moving and coordinating than he uses and doesn’t allow him to power over folks.
But the mass helps too!
aoki is one strong guy...seriously hes one of those guys that is 5x stronger than you would think possible for his size
Team Pioli/Haley. Decade of the Chiefs.
the Hayoto Sakurai and Gilbert Mlendez must be aliens on steroids

Mach didn’t exactly manhandle him, he KO’d him with knees to the head in 27 seconds. And because Gil is stronger than him doesn’t mean that Aoki isn’t strong.

Just not strong enough...

exactly what i’m tryin’ to say. I don’t think Aoki is a weak, and agree that he’s stronger than he looks, but he’s not strong enough to hang with top 5 fighters

Uh, no
This:
Aoki, your grappling is already good enough, but you aren’t strong enough to use it on anyone who’s ever lifted weights
isn’t this:
I don’t think Aoki is a weak, and agree that he’s stronger than he looks, but he’s not strong enough to hang with top 5 fighters

fine, i’m guilty of an exaggeration. bottom line, dude needs to improve his strength if he’s gonna make it to the top.
also, i disagree that executing an elevator sweep and kneeing someone unconscious in a span of 8 seconds is not considered manhandling

what a depressing picture
it looks like something out of a Japanese David Lynch movie or maybe Napolean Dynamite.
