Oh man. At first I thought it said Thiago Alves and my heart almost stopped. I am really looking forward to that fight, War Pitbull!

me too!!!!
I yelled out ‘no’ in the kitchen while browsing and my housemates looked at me funny.
I then explained that it was SILVA and not Alves, but it didn’t seem to help.
They are all girls from non-MMA countries, so I guess I should expect it.

You dont have to rub it in
What? I didn't break it, I was just testing its durability, and then I placed it in the woods becuase it's made out of wood and I just thought he should be with his family.

I liked the way he ran through David Heath,
…but I’m not sure – are we on the Boetsch-wagon? I guess I must be since I know how to spell it…
Don't believe a word I say, I don't train BJJ.
I blog at TangleBones - you should follow me on Twitter here.
If you like it, you should put a rec on it.
Brandon Vera or Luiz Cane as the replacement?
I guess you could always bring back Kieth Jardine if he could get out of Shark Fights.
Vera's still recovering from the injury, I believe.
Cane would be good…or Soszynski, Brilz, Petruzelli, etc.
seth could be fun. wonder if he’d wanna risk it and end up 0-2 so quickly though.
how much damage did reljic take in his loss to grove? wasn’t he just saying yesterday he’s heading back to 205 anyway? though that would be the same deal… would leave him with three straight losses.
don’t know that i wanna see brilz/boetsch 2.0 anytime soon. either way, gotta think tim dodged a bullet with silva dropping out.
You read my mind with Luiz Cane. He was the first guy that i looked through their roster who doesn’t already have a fight lined up. Not sure what is going on with him though. And it would keep the Brazilian vs. American theme going. I wouldn’t be stunned if they got a Brazilian to replace him because of that theme going on for the card.
Brandon Vera's face is too broken to fight for another few months.
Nick Garcia is the Brian Russell of MLS but 10 times worse.
Bonnar is on a medical suspension that would take him into 2011.

What about Phil Davis?
I think he could easily take out 2 opponents in 1 night.

I think it pretty much has to be Cane
Or someone outside of the UFC because a lot of the LHWs on the roster are either not 100% to fight now (Vera, Bonnar, K-Sos, etc.) or they have a fight booked.

Aww....
I was looking forward to Thiago Silva returning to his destructive ways. I was thoroughly anticipating the beating Boetsch was gonna receive from Silva.
Rematch with Brilz anybody?
That would ruin the whole USA vs Brazil thing though. No available BR’s in the UFC LHW division at the moment.

Why the heck not? I wanna see this guy fight again.
Dammit I was looking forward to this fight
Hopefully they find a good replacement, Cane would match up nicely.

The Heath fight made me a Boetsch fan...
And his exit from the UFC did not dissuade that. I feared that he would be destroyed by Silva and back out of the U but I’m glad he should have a good chance at a win and a chance to fight again.

ATT is a pretty hardcore training camp for pro’s

so you’re saying it’s a good thing they’re always injuring their fighters in the leadups to fights?
like Mike Brown for the Aldo fight – Why was he taking full-speed knees from Thiago Alves (a much larger man) 8 days before the fight? yeah he fought, but that was one of his excuses.

fair enough
i noticed the commenter was an ATT fan, and wanted to bring this up, but i should have worded it as a question like: “so what do you think of the many reports of their fighters being injured in practice leading up to fights?”
but yes, you’re right, i did jump to the conclusion that MrTechniques was using the fact that Thiago got injured to pump up ATT. you got me, Haber

I’m saying American Top Team is a pretty hardcore camp like many other top level training camps. You can’t prevent injuries even if your not going “full speed” & any fighter will be the first to tell you that fighting is the easy part if you can make it through your training camp 100% which almost never happens.

but on the bright side, maybe The Barbarian can get himself a win here instead of being highlight reel fodder for Thiago.

I wish
When a fighter gets injured a fighter of the same caliber or higher should replace him, I don’t in any way want to take away from the guy for stepping up but ya know what I mean but props to him for stepping up just wish it was of the same caliber. But hey I’m no fair weather fan I love mma and I’ll enjoy every second of it.
