WEC has done it again! This card is looking nice.

The Faber-Aldo DVD is terrible

Not the card, but the DVD quality. The fights were awesome but the video quality looked like a VHS rip at best. The video quality reminded me of those old IFC caged combat DVDs. It wasn’t even fullscreen.

This seems like another kick for WEC to put on such a great event but have a bad DVD commemorating it.

Huh?

Full screen makes the quality worse. Just FYI. You get a clearer picture when it’s presented in widescreen.

I don’t know what the technical term is (full or wide), but it was just bad to look at.

Can’t wait for this card. It will be interesting to see how the ratings do.

The only thing that upsets me

Is that some sources indicate Zombie/Roop is a prelim fight.

Zombie should get on TV cards for life after the Garcia fight….speaking of Garcia he’s going to get obliterated by Hominick.

Nick Garcia is the Brian Russell of MLS but 10 times worse.

I hope Garcia loses

Nothing against him, I just don’t wanna see him win. I also hope jung is not a one and done fighter… but the Asian fighters have let me down countless times.

It looks like the only way you can beat Garcia

Is by finishing him. The judges obviously see his slopfighting as active and meaningful aggression.

I don’t see that happening.

I think Hominick is going to clearly win the fight, but I am anticipating a repeat of his performance versus Gurgel. Hominick tends to ride his bicycle when faced with aggressive brawlers. This fight will look more like a track meet than an obliteration.

I am curious to see how Varner vs Cerrone turns out. Varner is the favorite, but Cerrone is not someone to count out. I can see Varner going for takedowns on Cerrone, but Cerrone is good off his back. Standing, I would probably give the advantage to Cerrone simply because I know he has a really good chin.

by chrisbboy82 on Jul 26, 2010 2:58 PM EDT reply actions

I would give the advantage to Varner simply because Cerrone never seems to win big fights. He beats the guys he is supposed to beat in impressive fashion, but finds a way to lose to the guys who aren’t obvious underdogs.

I’m anticipating a classic Cerrone come from behind loss where he sleepwalks through the first two rounds and then comes on strong in the third. A little too little, a little too late.

After Cerrone vs Varner

They need to fold the division. Seriously, Ben needs to be the UFC and I don’t care if he gets destroyed, he needs quality opponents. I care not for Cerrone or Varner. Weakest fight on the card to me. It’ll probably be a barn burner though.

lol.. nice

Anyway, great fucking card! Looking forward to it.. don’t think Gamburyan stands much of a chance though. WEC 50 next month ain’t looking too shabby either, by the way. I wonder who they’ll throw to Bendo for next title defense, would be ridiculous if it’s Varner again (assuming he beats Cerrone). But yeah, please fold LW division into UFC, and add 125 instead.

the only guy who wins fights by taking punishment is garcia. that chuck/the iceman’s man servant with the fu manchu moustache that Jorgensen battered and chased around the ring.

i just don’t care to see urijah fight some other guy.

Gatti. Dekkers. Pele. Aoki. Kang. Vanderlei. Basillio. Harry Greb.

Ill be rooting for Manny here even though he is a long shot. I met and hung out with him after UFC 79 and he was really cool. Also, i once went out of town and this douche swore up and down I was Manny, so eventually I just went with it. I ended up getting a bj from the guys girlfriend later that nighy. Guess he should know his MMA a little better. I think this may have a small factor in me pulling for him too. Haha
