As pointed out earlier by Kid Nate, Dave Herman has been having some problems with Bellator Fighting Championships. Herman is suing BFC for breach of contract and BFC is countersuing for the same thing. Now MMA Fighting brings this info:
Heavyweight prospect Dave Herman is currently embroiled in a breach of contract lawsuit against Bellator, but the promotion has made another attempt at reconciliation, offering him a Sept. 9 date against former UFC champion Ricco Rodriguez, MMA Fighting has learned.
Herman (16-2), signed with the upstart promotion nearly two years ago, yet has fought only once under their banner, earning a first-round TKO over Josh Barnes in May 2009.
This actually is a very nice fight for both men. Rodriguez seems to have turned his life around and has been red hot as of late, a development seemingly closely tied to drastic weight loss and "healthy living." Herman is a talent but has had his share of uneven performances that cast doubt on how much of a prospect he truly is.
A fight between these two gentlemen would move toward easing the legal issues with Herman's contract and showcasing exactly where each man is in his career.
