Quality job by Shark Fights........

that’s gonna be an interesting show. And for a regional promotion those are a lot of fairly big names in those matchups. I am interested to see how the rest of the card goes and how it eventually turns out. So far very nicely done though.

I don’t remember when drew got released, I was wondering when his next fight was

Great card so far

Was Villasenor released by strikeforce or r they just loaning him?

by 19Miles on Jul 24, 2010 11:57 AM EDT reply actions

i believe i read somewhere else that he has a non-exclusive Strikeforce contract that allows him to fight elsewhere.

He’s allowed to compete outside of SF when they don’t plan him for an upcoming show.
Joey just needs their approval.

What’s nice about these fights is, that none of them is a squash match that we usually see when ex UFC/SF fighters fight for a regional Promotion

good names for a regional show

I’m curious what that fighter payroll will be compared to how much the promotion will take in for this event.

Prangley by KO
Soko by Murder
Villasenor by being a Tough Son Of A Bitch™

That is a damn good fight… Two guys who love to stand and bang with each other.

This is looking to be a decent fight card, I just hope that they are going to have the money to finance a card with such big names

All 3 of these bouts have the potential to be exciting; very entertaining card thus far.

It’s a good looking indy card, but five guys who can’t even make it in the UFC does not qualify as a Fight Night quality card.

I will agree thats its a nice card for a regional show and I am always happy to see fighters getting fights but UFC Fight night cards are usally filled with propects sorting out the lower and mid levels of devision and a few B stars Sometimes A Stars in the main event. not filled with UFC wash outs.

I think this card looks awesome. I bounce back and forth between Phoenix and Singapore. In Singapore, MARTIAL COMBAT is really coming into its own.
In AZ, we have Rage in the Cage, which is decent, but they almost never have names that would attract “casual” fans.
Strikeforce Challengers is coming to Phoenix in August. Joe Riggs Vs Louis Taylor.
I’ll be there. I’m psyched for the womens’ tourney, but honestly I’m bummed that SF isnt promoting AT ALL in Phoenix.
Shark Fights is using awesome regional talent. Picking up Jardine, Alexander, and Sokodjou are awesome picks because people (casual fans…not fight-nerds like us) remember their performances and their names.
Remember when Alexander smashed Jardine and then Sakara? “casual” fans went bezerk for him. Point is, these guys sell tickets. Especially at local shows.
