awesome replacement!
I was plenty excited for Rivera but I’m even more excited for this matchup. I’ll take Harris by GnP tko in the 2nd.

SUCKS for Sakara
Was probably preparing for a slugfest with Rivera, and now he gets an explosive wrestler. I see nothing good coming from this for Sakara, but if he wins that should make him a contender
lol...
…don’t forget how athletic and well spoken he is too;0)

A great show of class

Tough fight for both guys
Harris has never faced a striker of Sakara’s caliber, and Legionarius has looked especially slick standing in recent memory. Sakara, on the other hand, hasn’t faced a wrestler like Harris before, and although MW is his ideal weight class, he can’t physically compete with Gerald.
Methinks a Harris UD, possibly (T)KO. I would be surprised if Sakara could keep his feet under him the whole fight, and he doesn’t really have kill- shot power either. Whatever time they do spend standing will be a little tense for Gerald, but he should come away with the win if he comes in shape.

I know you were probably referring to his fists, but I never get sick of this one:

And I’m taking Legionarius in this one.

He has successfully ended 7 fights with strikes in the first round, 9 within 2… The sounds like some power to me.
Don't worry

There are a few quality gif'ers on here
I’ll be completely absent during my Japan trip though. Except for maybe a fanpost about mt Shooto experience.

Smart move by Gerald to fill in. He signed a four fight contract with the UFC and this will be his fourth fight – should be due for a nice raise now. I’m willing to bet that Dana loves the guys that step up on short notice.
Good point!
A victory would put him in position for a pretty nice contract.

I knew it.
On the MMA Scraps podcast Harris always talks about staying in shape just in case someone gets injured.
And lo and behold he steps up and makes a regular fight interesting by stepping up and capitalizing on his new-found fame.

Harris looked like a mongoose in his last fight.
His reaction time was impressive to say the least. If he didn’t have that odd stance, he could probably avoid even more strikes, but if it works to help set up the take down, who can argue.

His stance
bugged the shit out of me in his last fight. I did not understand what he was trying to do
I thought that was just me...
And he really struggled trying to get Branch down much more than he should have….

His stance was odd.
I thought it was to be at an advantage against the high kicks of Branch. Seemed like it was something he saw in fight tape on Branch and he was using that stance to be able to react and/or defend.

Excellent Fight!
Can’t wait to see how Harris does against someone with a little more expierence in the UFC. And still on Spike TV too!
Me likey.
Sakara is never in a boring fight.
UFC 117, 118, and 121 have some of the most stacked prelims I can ever recall.
The Dos Equis guy wishes he was Brock Lesnar.
It wasn't the most exciting fight ever
but being there live, I wouldn’t call Sakara-Leites “boring”. I was actually quite impressed at Sakara’s ground defense: he escaped from being mounted and having his back taken by Leites on several occasions.
good look
If Harris can get past Sakara (he will) and wandy out too long, would love to see leben vs Harris! That would be classic

I love this match-making. It has the potential to tell us a lot about where both fighters are at.
Has Sakara gotten any better at dealing with a power puncher than he was against Leben? How will Sakara do against a strong wrestler? How will Harris respond to a very good technical striker?
My money is on Harris. Sakara has shown a weakness against people who have power (see Leben and Alexander) and barring a miracle I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Harris on the other hand just fought a solid boxer (Branch) and more than held his own.
As a Bostonian it kind of sucks Rivera won’t be fighting but I’m pumped to see Harris live. I’ll be cheering for The Hurricane.

![Strikeforce star, Cung Le, tells Fight Hype he wants to fight in the UFC, and more specifically, on the UFC 139 card in his hometown of San Jose, perhaps against Chris Leben:
PC: What's your current situation as far as your Strikeforce/Showtime deal? Could the UFC sign you to fight right now?
CL: I definitely have a different contract than the other fighters. Right now, it's all up to the UFC. There may be some roadblocks with the Showtime deal and the Showtime side of things, but we will see what happens.
PC: When would you like something to be ironed out and possibly fight again?
CL: Ever since I heard that Cain [Velasquez] was going to be fighting in San Jose. I would love to be on the same card
PC: At one point, there was a poll done and a lot of people wanted to see Cung Le vs. Anderson Silva. Not only is there Anderson now, but a lot of guys have emerged in the 185-pound division as contenders, such as Brian Stann, Mark Munoz, Chris Leben and Chael Sonnen. Would you be interested in any of those names? Are those the type of fights you're looking to make?
CL: You know, on Yahoo! Sports, there is a Cung Le vs. Leben thread if there was a cross promotion. Like I said, if the fans think it is an exciting fight for them to watch, I'm all for it.
UPDATE: Chris Leben is now confirmed to be fighting Mark Munoz at UFC 138, so it looks like Cung Le will have to find another opponent.](http://cdn1.sbnation.com/fan_shot_images/205493/CungLe_crop_340x234_small.jpg)
