FEG has officially announced DREAM 16 for September 25th at the 10,000-seat Nippon Gaishi Hall in Nagoya, Japan.

No official participants have been named, but fighters shown on the DreamOfficial.com graphic (above) are Ikuhisa Minowa, Tatsuya Mizuno, Hideo Tokoro, Shinya Aoki, "Kid" Yamamoto, Kazushi Sakuraba, Caol Uno, Gegard Mousasi and Hiroyuki Takaya.

Mousasi and Mizuno are expected to face off in the finals of Dream's light-heavyweight mini-GP, while Uno will be making his first appearance in the promotion's newly-settled 143-pound division.

Looking forward to it...

Regardless of who is on the card.

Who could Uno possibly face?

"Caol Uno was like Mutoh. He developed into a star overseas and then returned to his home country a much bigger deal. Dokojanuse Mishima is like Kobashi because they both do moonsaults. Don Frye is like Stan Hansen because they are both fat dumb rednecks with mustaches." - Jonathan Snowden

he's cutting down to featherweight

so there are lots of good options. a rematch with ishida would be fun.
the one I hate to see on the card is saku. he needs to retire. : (

Yes with Sakuraba it’s really gotten sad.

I was just thinking, Uno’s never fought Takaya, but that might be something they would want to hold off and save until Uno gets a win under his belt. I imagine DREAM will at some point do a Uno vs Hansen rematch, it will be fun and probably great but I can’t see it touching the magic of the first (Uno vs Hansen is probably my favorite fight ever).

I just hope Uno doesn’t get KO’d again. The way Caol Uno looked after the Tibau KO was really upsetting and scary, but at least he’s not going to be facing huge UFC LW’s anymore and he’s in a better weight class for his natural size.

Truth.

It’s also the best fight ever.

Was just about to post...

…exactly the same thing about Kazushi. In my eyes (and no amount of facts, statistics or logic will ever change my mind) he’s the greatest MMA fighter ever. I just wish that DREAM/the japanese fight fans/his warrior spirit would finally give it up and let the great man retire while he still has some of his dignity and health left.
It’s getting to the point where I’m willing him to lose fights, coz every win is just postponing his retirement

If and when

Mousasi wins, I’d like to see him face Dan Henderson. He can fully redeem the King Mo loss with a W against a strong wrestler…..IMHO

Who else wants to see Mousasi versus Saku?

People who enjoyed all the Saw and Hostel movies.

Why do you hate Saku?

How about this

Book Sakuraba vs A Bear and then have Minowa fight the bear at The Sakuraba Memorial Show after the bear kills Sakuraba.

The question is: What draws better ratings?

I was thinking actual grappling matches, but I like your idea better.

I've heard a rumor that Saku is broke...

and he needs to fight. Seems like he’d have a truckload of cash by now, but pro athletes are notorious for poor money managment.
