With the recent talk of the UFC opening an office in China, it begs the question. Who is leading the charge in China? Lorenzo? or, Is this Flash Entertainment's moment in the sun?
It would appear that Lorenzo and Flash Entertainment are collectively in the drivers seat for the Chinese expansion. Lorenzo's connections as an owner of the Stations casino lead right to China. The casino district in Macao, China is home to Venetian Macao, the world's largest casino. Las Vegas Sands Corp. are the owners/operators of the Venetian Macao. It is not a coincidence that the UFC would chose China as the first, next step in global expansion. It is a fairly safe assumption, that Lorenzo has made some important business connections thru LVSC in mainland China. The boys in Flash Entertainment are supposedly connected to the Chinese government. Am I overstating Lorenzo's influence? Are Flash Entertainment all that they are cracked up too be? It seems strange that no news has come out regarding Flash since the buy in. The rate at which Zuffa plans to move into China implies some strong ties. This talk of expanding the UFC footprint is big news, this could really push UFC so much further ahead of the competetion of hurt them badly. What are the + and - of this expansion game?
