Really weird gameplan from Tamura. It sounded like he went for about two takedowns.

I’m not seeing many ways Abe can win, his striking looked obviously improved versus ATCH Anarchy but still not near Rambaa and taking into account Rambaa’s tdd and ability to fight off his back and get up +speed, I think this is all Rambaa. It’s just a shame he can’t elbow off his back like we saw him do to people in his PFC days. Abe is a great grappler but being able to use it on Rambaa in an mma fight is still a question.

After reading the Sherdog Play- by- Play
It sounds like Abe was able to repeatedly take Somdet down, land some shots on the ground, and even came close to finishing with an armbar at one point. However, Rambaa was able to land some good shots himself, and one (or more) of them ended up making Hiroyuki’s left eye swell up to the point where he couldn’t see out of it. Leading to the stoppage.
But yeah, as KOQ24 said, a rematch is probably in order. Hopefully Somdet will work the hell out of his wrestling/ grappling.

I don’t think Rambaa will ever have much of a ground game beyond trying to keep guys out of his guard and elevator sweeping. Fortunately for him, you don’t really need one when you got the ill takedown defense and little jackhammers for limbs.

![Scouting Report Update: Weekend Results - April 29th-30th
It was another week of mixed results for fighters selected in the World MMA Scouting Report. #2 Featherweight Taiki Tsuchiya was knocked out by Shooto stalwart and former Champion "Lion" Takeshi Inoue at Shooto Tradition 2011 in Japan. Meanwhile, #6 Lightweight Reza Madadi came away with a controversial decision victory over UFC regular Rich Clementi in what turned out to be a bitterly contested title fight in Madadi's home country of Sweden. During the staredown at the weigh-ins, Clementi responded to an overly aggressive Madadi with a hard headbutt attempt that thankfully missed it's target.
