I agree, it’s sad to see a landmark name in the modern birth of the sport end up like this. But I think many people have accepted this since the Berry fight, and even beforehand with the mauling he got from Tito as he was fading from prominence.

But I’ve seen some brutal leg kick-fests that don’t make this seem all that bad. CroCop/Yoshida comes to mind. Crushed an outclassed opponent, with no defense even attempted before it was too late. Broke his will and his body. So I can also understand where Badanka’s coming from in that regard.
